BOX OF BRIDGES (NYC)

History tells us that people from November Project SAN DIEGO are not #WEATHERPROOF.  And from everything we have seen, and some of us going to their workouts have witnessed, are 100% true.  But here in NEW YORK CITY, we don’t care what its like outside.  Raining today? Ok, cool first time to wear a jacket since April, head out the front door, and to the bridge.  For our friends from SD, this must have been a culture shock.  People working out in the rain? I mean, yea, we just go and do our thing.  And its FIERCE. read more

FORE! (NYC)

Stepping up to the fourth hole, its a par three so most are looking to use a six iron off the tee.  The hole is a dog leg left here, so you want to make sure you dont slice it off the tee.  Looks to be going for the green.  WOOOSSSHHH.  The ball looks to have what it takes to make it there.  Rolling, rolling, no.  YES.  HOLE IN ONE.  BOOOOOOM. read more

PAHT-NAHS (NYC)

Today’s blog post is brought to you by Pete.  That is all.

The Dads needed to jet out of town and leave the tribe for a few days. Most folks would’ve just poured a huge bowl of dry food, put out an extra litter box and said “See ya’!” but the Dads aren’t most people. They knew this week needed to be #RAD, and if you need #RAD? You call the Stepdads. POW and OG busted out the Running And Dancing. #RAD. The Tribe was split into pairs, not by pace, not by fitness, but by awesomeness. Find someone that’s as awesome as you are and give them a big old hug. BOOM there’s your partner. In an effort to keep the Tribe from acting up, the Stepdads kept them tired by running them and entertained with dancing. They danced with their partners, danced hard. They grooved with hoisties, fuck yeah push-ups and compliment squats. All #RAD moves. But the Tribe kept the energy up, they couldn’t be tired out. The Stepdads were the tired ones. Tired and proud. It turns out, the Tribe were the ones keeping an eye on the Stepdads. The Tribe was showing POW and OG just what it means to be awesome. read more

September PUSH (NYC)

First off, everyone should reach out and thank POW! for taking some amazing photos.  They are looking fresh.  But more on that later.

On PR Day we push hard.  Everyone is out there going for it all.  Sometimes we push each other.  Event better than that, we thank each other.  When I got to work, and went on social media, all I could see was the love.  TONS OF LOVE. read more

#MILE7

Set the scene… New York City, the first Sunday of November – November 1st 2015

Buzz, Buzz, Buzzzzzzz. It’s 4:00am and your alarm clock is going off. You look at the clock, you look at it again, you look at it one more time and decide it’s time. It’s not your typical #WAKEUPTHESUN kinda day; you roll out of bed in sleepy excitement and after twenty minutes of composing yourself, you’re out the door making moves because #NOSLEEPTILLBROOKLYN. Following the advice of your fearless leaders, Nina and Jackie, you layer, and layer, and layer again to near stay puft marshmallow status, #warmth. Most of NYC is still sleeping, soon to be awakened, but even at this quiet time there’s an indescribable energy rolling through the streets. As you get closer to your destination, that deep rooted feeling is now a defined pulse and you’re at the helm steering it. read more

The Wrong Dude..

You think you know, but you have no idea.  This is the life of Brooklyn, aka Sabrina.

Apps on apps on apps…so many people in the city to meet. Of course I met the wrong person on the right night and the right place.
Prior to walking into the bar, I looked at the dating app. I quickly took a glance at the picture of the dude I was about to meet. I walked into the bar that was dimly lit. There were couples to the right, left of me and people in the back. I saw a man sitting alone waiting at the bar. I looked up at him and he greeted me without saying my name. I had to jump onto the seat next to him (a common challenge for me with bar stools) to introduce myself and have a drink. read more

Fxck Cancer

Fuck Cancer.  That is what today was about.  Battling it out and never giving up.  Every Wednesday we come out and that is what we do.  Battle for 35-40 minutes of non-stop hardcore shit.  And you know who is THE #1 example of that?

Every fucking week Jeanie is there to push herself harder, faster, further.  And its not just her she is pushing.  She races anyone and everyone.  You line up next to this BAMF and you know.  ITS ON.  And she isn’t out there to prove some point or show how badass she is, she is there to push others and make everyone badass racers.  She will push you past your limits, do an extra lap or set of burpees.  And why? Because she loves this shit and each and every person that #JustShowsUp.  So while Jeanie was off beating the fuck out of cancer this morning, we toed that line and worked out our asses off, pushed each other and destroyed some steps.  Because everyone knows that is exactly the way she wants it.  And when she comes back. ITS FUCKING ON. read more

Change The World (NYC)

Our space is not our own.  When we work out, we use what people before us have built as open, communal, FREE for everyone.  These spaces do not discriminate- race, religion, gender, height, or socioeconomic status.  Million dollar penthouse on Central Park West, one bedroom apartment shared by three people in Harlem, who gives a shit.  Our workouts are built around a community of inclusion and distractions from the outside world.    Every Wednesday and Friday when you show up, we give you an hour of time that transports you outside of what you thought this city was all about.  You learn something new, experience somewhere you have never been before, and forget about all of the distractions that have been sitting in your head for the past few days.  You leave all of that shit with that last step before you SHOW UP. read more

On A Boat (NYC)

Please enjoy these tunes while reading this blog…….

The Isle of Staten.  Staten Island.  Today we worked out on a boat.  40 people rose out of their beds, before 5 a.m.– because lets be honest to get to the Ferry Terminal by 5:48 a.m. A small crowd formed early, then slowly but surely we saw more and more people arrive.  ZERO expectations except perhaps the one on most people’s minds: PLEASE DON’T LET ME GET TRAPPED IN STATEN ISLAND.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the Ferry and the Island.  There is a calm, ease to the Island Life that you just don’t get living on this larger island called Manhattan.  As we gathered we…… read more
