About Us:
November Project is a non-profit organization with a mission to lower the intimidation of fitness with fun. Hundreds of thousands of our members train in 50+ cities spanning over 10 countries and 4 continents. We see that in the face of rampant technology, declining public health, and global instability, there is an increasing need for human connection, and we think that the solution is to provide free, public, all-weather, outdoor group workouts that turn strangers into friends, connect communities, and improve mental/physical health for anyone who shows up. read more

Changing Gears

Hey Everyone!!!

Kyle here and I figured I would update everyone on why I’m not going to be at summit this next weekend.

Right now I’m in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. I am a week into my cross Canada cycling trip across the country and there wasn’t an opportunity to stop this without throwing off my whole course. read more

Breakfast ALL DAY by Hans Carlson

This blog post is brought to you by Hans Carlson, a tribe-less helluva guy that [sometimes quietly] spread his smile through the cities he visited. He showed up to one of the biggest days – biggest not in numbers, but in significance – for NP Amsterdam last October, and as the rain poured down in the darkness, he never lost his positive light. Thanks, Elliot, for tricking this guy into an NP #traverbal road trip and bringing him into our crazy cool family. read more

…

John Honerkamp and I have a few things in common. For starters, we both like people. Slow people, fast people, kind people, and very kind people. We love them all. But John and I also have a few things in common as we get closer and closer to the weekend of October 14th, 2016. First, we’ll both be in Bethlehem, PA to celebrate the Runner’s World 1/2 Marathon weekend festivities. We also both are committed to running all four of the races from Friday afternoon to Sunday’s main event, but perhaps most importantly, we both plan to cause a little rowdy community fitness as we host the official Bethlehem Pop-Up Workout on Friday, October 14th at ArtsQuest at 6:29AM sharp. All ages, speeds, and sizes are welcome to this fun, legit workout that will have you on your way in 60 minutes. If you’re in Bethlehem and are interested in starting a November Project tribe, this would be the perfect chance to train with us and see what you’re getting into. We believe that this Pop-Up will be the best way to wrap the industry folks from Runner’s World, the locals from Bethlehem, potential leaders, and even a few traverbalers from other East Coast tribes, all into one spicy corndog of love & good times. But that’s not all. Below are the ways in which “Coach” John Honerkamp and I will be getting more of you to the workout, into the races, and to and from your cities. read more

The November Project Summit 2016 – Plan, Hype, & General Expectations

The #NPSUMMIT, for those of you who have never been, is the biggest NP gathering that takes place only once a year. The weekend has an energy that is unmatched and has grown into a homecoming feel that Co-Leaders and members all get to share. What started as a way to get all the of leaders around one table back in 2013 has grown into something bigger and better than we could ever imagine. The November Project Summit will not disappoint. Join us. read more

29 Tribes Strong

Today is a new day, which began with 30 tribes and will end with 29.

Recently it was brought to our attention that Freddy Garcia, one of the leaders of NP MIA, has done something in his past which was hard for us to ignore. After very careful consideration and numerous conversations with Freddy, his co-leaders, and members of the November Project Miami tribe, we respectfully asked him to step down from the leadership position and participate in the workouts as a tribe member. This was an incredibly difficult decision to be made and not one that was made lightly. Freddy is extremely proud of the community he helped build and has made the decision that if he is not the leader of the group, then the Miami tribe will no longer carry the November Project name. read more

The Endurance Challenge Calendar and NPSUMMIT 4.0

The North Face Endurance Challenge trail race series we hold near and dear to our hearts. From the days of team Cinco de Redtube’s dominating performance at the marathon relay in Bear Mountain 2012, all the way to December of 2015, where hundreds of spray painted chests took on Marin trails and raced in every event offered (including the kids race), November Project has been kicking ass and making friends. This year will be no different… well, maybe bigger. read more

Nutmeg Nomads

#CoachSteve from LAX here. I grew up in the fine state of Connecticut, which I promptly left as fast as physically possible for the dirty water of Boston followed by the eternal drought of Los Angeles. I, like many of you NP’ers out there, come back to the 5th state of the union for the holidays to be with family. You really expected us to go an entire week-plus without throwing down a workout? Pete Kruse of NPSF/NY/wherever he feels like being from at the time had some words to share about the badassery that was thrown down at Cheshire Town Park in Cheshire, CT this morning. This may not be the start of #NPCT, but it sure as shit was fun to get together with some friends, new and old, to sweat in the winter cold.  read more

Running High: Avoiding Altitude Sickness on the Trail

There’s a new challenge ahead. You’re preparing for a trail race, in the mountains, at an altitude much higher than you’re accustomed to. Rather than freak out, train with an oxygen restricting mask (yes, these exist!), and risk being mistaken for Hannibal Lecter at your next pub run, take a deep breath… yes, suck in every last morsel of oxygen… and exhale all of your worries away. read more
