Kansas City Pop-Up, Wednesday 8/26TH at 6:29AM, Liberty Memorial

The official Kansas City November Project Pop-Up workout will be this week, on Wednesday, at 6:29AM meeting at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, MO. Your leader will be, “BG,” the self-hyped “co-founder” who sometimes types in “3rd Person.”

War Memorial KC MO

How the heck will this work in Kansas City? Well, what we’re hoping is that you and your digital pals/family can help build this one-day event… that we can roll into an actual tribe that thrives for many years to come. How can YOU help? Glad you asked. Connect us to your KC people who may be interested in community, FREE fitness, painted shirts, hugging strangers (don’t bring that piece up if they’re not into hugging – we’ll just let them be surprised), racing, training, making noise, and having fun before heading off to work. This can be done by tagging them on FB, sharing this page that you’re reading right now, tagging handles on Instagram, ReTweeting our Twitter stuff, or many other computer tricks. Once we get all of those good humans into the same giant circle at sunrise, we’ll figure out the rest of the magic from there. read more

St. Louis Pop-Up, Friday 8/21, World’s Fair Pavilion

With more requests than almost any other U.S. city, St. Louis will finally have their first taste of November Project this week. That’s right, our very own Nick Rod, Co-Leader of November Project Baltimore, will be hosting a rowdy session this week and we need you there to prove that St Louis is indeed ready for a tribe. Here are the details that matter… read more

Toronto and ECSON Recap

Editors Note: This post was crafted this weekend at YTZ airport.

As I’m sitting here at Billy Bishop airport rolling my hamstrings on a metal water bottle I can’t help but to reminisce about the last few days in Ontario. “How is it possible that Claire and I have so many people in common!?” A slow moving cart of elderly folks passes by at walking pace. “I’m still not sure about that guy Sam!” “Man, that race was hard!” are just few thoughts running through my head as the voice over the loud speaker is announcing that the flight from Toronto to Boston will be leaving through the gate 9. But let’s back up a little… read more

Serbia & Croatia Pop-ups Recap

If you asked me to summarize the seven days in “The Motherland” in one word, I would say UNREAL, and then I would show you this photo (above) that I dropped on instagram few weeks ago. This moment in time captures so many things that define who I am today, and to see them all seamlessly blend together, makes me very emotional. But more about that later. read more

Layers of Serbia 2015 & Bojan’s Hometown

My monitor says that I’m right on track to do just over 20K in 30 minutes if I keep at this pace. Watching the high school kids coming off the water, warming up to row, and washing down boats, I have to remind myself where I am. A few quick glances around the room and I can’t believe that some of these bodies, both dudes and gals, are actually in high school – they looked like college rowers already. FUCK, my split has jumped up (gotten slower) as my attention left what I was doing. In a room full of weights, boxes, medicine balls, and the rowing machine stable, I was on the stationary bike known as a watt bike. Almost a 6 month knee injury and I found myself in the Eastern European rowing shrine that I’d heard about all of these years, and I was simply trying to stay fit and sane during recovery. These are the exact same model watt bikes that the Northeastern Huskies use at the Henderson Boathouse back in Boston and I feel ashamed that I’m impressed in a way that makes me think, “Not bad Serbia! Way to keep up!” FUCK, I’m off pace again, stay focused. read more
