White House Whiteout

Rise & Shine, Obama.

One of our more epic locations was staged at The White House this morning for the #NP_Whiteout. More and more we are turning heads, people asking what we are, who we are, how much does it cost to join, how to sign up. At our core, we are trying to change the way people view fitness, make fitness fun, create a place to be yourself and smile loudly. Spread that idea, LOUDLY. #JustShowUp read more

Summer Takeover

Fucking beautiful Monday NP DC,
We brought a new workout with the doughnut run set. When Steve and I were picking hills, we thought about Calvert, Rock Creek Hill, Harvard Ave., but ultimately settled on Meridian for workouts like todays. The variability, the inside steps, the football field landing, all make for some fun and my personal favorite workout days. read more

Going Yard (DC)

Rise and shine in SE DC, new faces, new neighborhood, same community building. Great to get out of NW and off the Mall to see a part of DC most of us rarely get to.  Awesome way to earn your weekend. Keep spreading the good vibes this weekend and recruit for #MeridianMonday.

The #PositivityAward went to a sister from then sister city of Chicago. All the people who signed on early to NP DC know how hard it is to grow a tribe from 5 to 10 to 20. Proud of her for sticking with NP CHI and growing the 17 city movement. BEC51D36-68F8-436A-820B-1687775D3712 ANNOUNCEMENTS: Tagging gear will be on Monday @ meridian hill. Cheetahs, and gazelles, and wolves, fuck yeah.

Good MORNING,

We picked “the one day in 10 years that the main part of the National Zoo was shutdown.” UPS was delivering 3 new elephants (ground delivery, standard rates apply, insurance on the cargo, etc) to the zoo and people in suits were blocking off the lower bowl. All is fucking good, we took to the Predator Trail, RACED cheetahs, burpeed with gazelles, and bear crawled with wolves. Great location that we will have to repeat eventually. The lions don’t know what’s coming for them. read more

When it Rains, It Pours (DC)

GOOD AFTERNOON,
As you are reading this, current temperature is 67 degrees, partly cloudy skies, puddles now only the size of a Smart Car. But if you GOT UP this morning, you braved what will be one of the more memorable Fridays #NP_DC will have.

At NP, each of us wears a different hat to someone else. Some days C Baum busting ass up the stairs makes me go faster, somedays Matt’s friendliness pushes me to be kinder, somedays Neal’s passion for NP pushes me to reach outside my comfort zone in life, Chuzi’s smile, and so on. We all have these people, whether we know it or not. Today was one of those days where the 40 of us who JUST SHOWED UP, all played the role of accountable friends. We said we would be at the Library of Congress at 6:30 am and we fucking got there. read more

Wednesday Thumb Wars (DC)

At November Project DC, we take ourselves very seriously, VERY fucking seriously. It showed today when a tribe of 150 rised n grinded to the Lincoln Memorial Steps to partake in NP thumb wrestling. Battles sieged, wars won, smiles had. We then tilted our hips in the right direct (IN) and began our #Fireman5 workout. ONWARD. read more

I lIke Mondays (DC)

I like really fucking Mondays, #MeridianMonday.

Getting into motion this Marathon Monday had a different feel to it. We ran as a community. We ran with passion. We ran to show that this community will not break. We ran, together. Send love to people up in Boston, to the jogger on the mall today, to your coworker who who just did their first 5 k. We’re all in this, we’re all out to make the city a fucking beautiful place to live and play. read more

We Get to Run (DC)

We get to run.

For a point in time today while we were holding a moment of silence, I got chills thinking about how lucky I am. How lucky I am to be able to make getting into motion via bike, my legs, in a pool, my means to life. To be able to smile brighter than the sun over the Washington Monument on Wednesdays with a family called November Project, to surround myself with amazing humans who support one another through snow, mid terms, layoffs, and everything in-between. It’s moments, days like this, where November Project gets put into perspective for me. I dive in a layer deeper, past the chin tickles, past the fuck yeahs, and get to see the smiles, the relationships, the community: The Love. read more

April is REAL

Been a while since I wrote a blog. Lets give it a whirl.

Today marked WARMTH. Today marked fire. Today marked GROWTH. ONWARD NP_DC.

Cool shit that happened today:

  • We had both a 12 and a 14 year old race it out with us. LUCY & FLANNERY. BOOM.
  • We got to know people by their names, not the angle at which their hips meet your bellybutton.
  • We ARE planning our WELCOME phrase.
  • Mother fucking MONDAYYYS.
  • Birthday bash for 3 core members and one DROP IN. “BOOM.”
