Taking It To Another Level (2016 DC)

Here we go.

We’re at it again. This past calendar was the year of Wild Love, wild races, & new faces. We went from new kids on the block, to seasoned vets. Monday, Wednesday, Friday isn’t a novelty anymore, it’s a way of life. As we look forward to 2016 the questions surrounding us are pretty simple, “what’s on tap for the year,” & “how do we keep NP DC the coolest thing since Bo Jackson?” read more

“Fire” By Stephen Browning

For each one of us, the reason we choose to wake up early, go meet strangers, and run an insane amount of steps varies.  Some want the social highs or the competitive streak that is brought out by NP. Here’s a story by our friend Stephen Browning on how NP turned running from a distant memory to made it an everyday smiling occurrence. Have a read, and when you see Stephen tomorrow, let him know he’s fucking beautiful. read more

Terriblely Positive 2s.

This past weekend was fucking nuts. Not only did we have 50+ running in the MCM, we had another 100+ cheering, hugging, laughing, crying (Kerry), and doing what we do: supporting each other. It’s crazy to see how far, how close, how insane this group has become over the past two years.

This Wednesday we’re going up. We’re turning in our 1-year limited warranty for our #TerribleTwos.  This past year we did a lot of growing up. We hit 500, we brought on a non-bearded/non-balding co-leader (who is pretty alright), we stormed Capitol Hills, we spoke with a dude named Ted, all while staying true to our core. read more

Track Me Everywhere (DCA)

Listen up. Hold the phone. Hold bounce. Hold the mic.

We need to chat. Before we chat, go here: https://tracking.november-project.com/ and click a box that says terms and conditions.

And listen, we get it, “we’re grassroots, we don’t need liability insurance!” Well, we’re a grassroots movement that is here to stay. And in reality, we know if one you fucking beautiful people twisted your ankle, you wouldn’t come after Steve’s student loans, Kaelan’s acting dough, or Mission Bar’s deep kickstarter funds. But, all it takes is one person, in one city to twist a knee and have this whole thing come tumbling down. So for this thing to work in 1 billion cities, with hundreds of thousands of people, we need to put our big kid pants on to protect our brand. read more

Are you ready to rock? (DC)

I’m ready to roll.

Another week in the books as we transition out of winter and into warmth. BiG gave his trimester review of NP_DC: it’s good.

Before winter leaves, we’re going to dress like we are from Antarctica and race the streets of DC. #MarchofthePenguins (hashtag has now begun) is going to be nuts. Someone will waddle, someone will dress in a banana costume, someone will quack. You get it, right? A year ago we did #ArcadeMotorcade and our events are only going to get bigger and badder. read more

ICE, ICE BABY (DCA)

If you didn’t read that title in your best school-girlish voice, go back and repeat.

Today was cold, probably, definitely not the coldest, but it was cold. Cold enough to need to be #weatherproof? FOR SURE. Despite the mittens and the mittens on mittens (no one brought kittens?) hands were still too cold to turn over cards. So people turned cards over for other people.  That was really nice. The Capitol Police watched. That was also nice. It will be REALLY nice if we can convince them to race with us? read more

Get Your Ass to Shake Shack (DC)

Crowd surfing, peek-a-BOO, hugs, neighbors, city, 2 degrees. One of those things is out of the norm, but we didn’t let that stop us from doing the rest.

We have some insane things on the docket for 2015. We want to take our message of free fitness, community building, and getting fucking after it to a whole new level. Events, M/W/F–everything. We’re excited that we’re just beginning to touch the surface on how insane we can make this group. That starts tonight. Recruiting Papers Party, 7:30 pm, Shake Shack Union Station. read more

Ramp Up (DC)

We’re going speed in the blog today. Quick recap: almost got, semi did, get tossed of the US Tax Court steps today. Capitol? Yes. White House? Sure. US Tax Court? That shit’s locked down.

We said this early in winter. As new people dwindle in the colder months, we’re challenging each of you to go a little bit harder, burpee a little bit faster, and smile as big as always. On accountability, #WeMissedYou’s DO NOT need to come from myself or my stronger bearded colead, they can come from you. If your neighbor slept in and he’s been to NP a “couple of times,” lets write him up. Founded on accountability and thats what drives this community further than run clubs or gym memberships. read more

Monday, Wednesday, Friday (DC)

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. 3 weeks.

If you’ve been an “only Wednesday,” or a once a week type NPer, commit after the holidays to doing 3 weeks straight through. No sore throat, no “back sorta hurts,” just get out of bed, and just show up. This winter we’re building a core group that is going to take over the world come summer time. You’ll want to be a core member at that time. #3WeekThrowDown starts in JANUARY. Be ready. read more

What is Up (From NYC)

Yo DC,

It’s your boy DM, hope y’all had a fun week with Steve. Clap it up for that dude being the man this week in my Big Apple Big Absence.

I went to NP NYC today and holy hell, this shit…is good. What each of these cities has created is UNIQUE, flavor is robust, and a damn good time. The spice is different, but the same good people are right there waiting for you. With NP being in 16 cities in 2014, 25+ by 2015, and a billion by 2016, use this community to travel, meet people, and explore all that this crazy, wild platform has to offer. read more
