The March to 500 (DC)

Good Morning,
Y’all good?

If you haven’t watched this, let’s watch it:

If you have been coming to November Project for the summer, the spring, even through last winter, you KNOW, this is something special. The friendships that have been made, the steps you’ve run, the races you’ve PR’d in, all of that is the foundation for making THIS SHIT GOOD. read more

List of Events (DC)

Rise, shine, hug, race, hug.

We like that list.

Quick and to the point. Action packed announcements:
•#PRWeek is Wednesday. Race everything. #SweetPR if you break your PR from LAST month. Whoever brings the MOST new people to Wednesdays workout will be celebrated, be ready.

•SWEETGREEN’S Passport workout. This is a cool opportunity for us to recruit MASS people towards #500 #3014.  There will be hundreds who have heard of NP, but never been to a workout. Come, show them how we bounce, and just another day of the week to race with friends. Thursday, 7 pm, Meridian Hill Park (SOUTH ((NOT WHERE WE USUALLY MEET))) http://sgnovemberproject.splashthat.com/ read more

#500, #3014, Washington Post (DC)

#Verbals.

Its what makes you get out of the bed when you’re tired. What holds you accountable when you stay out too late Thursday night. What makes you run to SE when you live in NW on Fridays. This idea of accountability to each other is what has allowed us to grow to 350 people and continues to be the glue of November Project. read more

Hi! Five City (DCA)

Today’s blog post comes from #DannyoftheDay, Allison Courtin. She lead the tribe to new heights, new hills, and new friends. Hi! Five city is upon us.

High Five City_01

Let me tell you about the best part of my day – the bounce. THE BOUNCE. Today, I got to see it from a different perspective. Let me explain. Today I was #DannyoftheDay which means I got to take a turn in the middle and do some yelling.  I was the donut hole to your donut, NP_DC, and I fucking loved it. I won’t play it cool. I won’t be coy. Being in the middle was fucking COOL and I liked it A LOT. But I was just there for the ride around me everything going on around me, all 109 of you (yeah I counted), are the reason today was so awesome.    We met up to get do0own in Rock Creek Park aka HI! Five City. This morning we got a little closer, we said HI, and gave high fives. Get it? Are you pickin’ up what im puttin’ down here?    H5C – we are changing the name and we are changing the game in this town. DC sometimes gets a bad rap for being unfriendly or for being stuffy. People mostly keep to themselves when they walk around the city, they wear headphones, they talk on the phone – DC is just doin DC. But it’s time to call it. We at November project believe that it’s time for a switch up. We want to lift this city up. We want to make it a friendlier, fitter, happier community.  High Five City_53 If November Project taught me anything it taught me this. Wake up and look around you. DC is fucking cool and the people, the PEOPLE, are some of the best around. These are the people you want to meet.  These are people who will change your life. Just. Say. HI.   NP_DC, thank you for the bounce today and every day. And thank you for showing me a different side of DC. Let’s spread the love.

#NP_DC.

What is up. Happy Friday, way to earn your weekend through bouncing, laughing, playing, and getting very fucking cultured at the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden. Thank you all for the support today, amazing. Last time we did #StreetArt it looked like this:

Hold Up, Pause, Rewind.

November Project District of Columbia,

It has been a while. Guess what I just ate for breakfast? Get it? I was fielding some questions of what’s going on with me, where I’ve been, and how my vacation was. So I’ll answer these as we jog through these past few months, together.
Life. It happens. It occurs in fast motion on PR day, slow motion on a first date (fun fact, Addie and I ate at Whole Foods on date 1. You could have guessed, eh?), and knocks you upside the head once in awhile. I was, for a while, in fast motion. Blazing from NP to starting a company, to training for Tokyo 2020. Go, go, and go faster. read more

Howdy, Partner

No matter if today was your first November Project DC work out, or your 50th, you know we are about community.

Today’s workout was centered on partnership. We had partners for the bounce, for the egg hunt, for the line up. What we saw happening this morning was a heart-warming mix… people partnering up with long-time buddies and people partnering with friends they met for the first time today. Evidence of this is perfectly captured in the 15 or so selfies that sprung up from those plastic eggs. read more

#CanofChuzi (DCA)

It’s Chuzi on the blog post today.

This is a special day for me.  Exactly six months (+1 day) ago, a friend convinced me to join November Project.  Like many people, I was hesitant.

Celena1

Fast forward six months.  I ran in my first race this year, and then two more, including my first half marathon.  I’m completely out of clothes to tag.  @Canofspaghetti and I are carrying the torch while the parents are out of town, and we’re having a blast doing it.  It’s weird to look at this website from the editor’s page and remember that I was reading it for the first time six short months ago, trying to decide if NP was something I wanted to do.  It’s weird and it’s awesome.  Thank you guys for making the last six months so great. read more

Be Here Now

There’s a philosophy popularized by a guy named Ram Dass back in the hippie days that spoke to the notion that is worth a mention today. It deals with the idea that people are busy thinking about something other than what they’re doing, and that it doesn’t take them to a happy place.
They’re thinking about the past. Or stuck in it. They’re thinking about the future, and where they might be. But I’m saying… today… Be. Here. Now.
This moment that you’re in is wonderful.
Take a second today to appreciate who you’re with, what you’re doing, and the fact that we’re in the middle of an awesome summer. read more

Weekend Earned (DC)

Pop pop pop,

Happy friday, great smiles were had this am. I had a blast meeting new people, seeing old faces, and turning heads on Capitol Hill.

Quick note: when we were giving our rounds of applause for visitors, Joshua Positivity Grubbs, we also checked in on who turned out M/W/F. Roughly 20% of the hands went up into the air at that point: clap, clap, clap, boom. To all those peeps, fuck yeah, keep doing it big. To the Friday only, Wednesday only people, let’s expand that. The idea behind November Project is building a team, a team that no matter the temperature, the time, the day of week, you just show up and get after it with your friends. read more
