Remember these?

If you joined our November Project family in the past year, than you probably don’t. These are the sign-in sheets, and they were used by each location to record individual scores from the workouts. Why did we go through all the trouble of recording few hundred chicken scratched, ineligible names and times, transfer them into a spreadsheet and then upload them into the blog post? There are a few reasons… read more

#earndatkingcake

Yes it is that time of year.  The holidays are over and everyone is back to the grind of real life.  It was a good break, filled with stuffing our face full of food and enough alcohol consumption that we should write our liver an apology letter.  But now that NYE is past, everything slows down.  Its back to work, setting goals to hit new year’s resolutions, and in most places just trying to survive until spring time.  All of this is true of course… unless you live in New Orleans. read more

Trying To Get Into This House? Pledging for New NP Cities Starts Now!

Since the early 2014 explosion of November Project cities, Bojan and I decided to turn off the overflow of great intentions and try and focus on the seventeen cities NP had grown into. Quantity isn’t always better than quality and we didn’t want to grow too much too soon. We took the months from the early summer until now to hold strong, build strength, and culture with the Co-Leader connections. The main event of the year, the November Project Summit, brought all leaders and tribe members from all over North America to the same place and it was amazing. read more

2014: The Year of the Stairs . . . and PR’s

I think we can all agree that 2014 was a big year.  Maybe not for the Saints…or any of our other sports teams come to think of it…but 2014 brought us all here….waking up before dawn on Wednesday mornings, ready to hug (and sweat) it out after hearing what the tribe leaders have in store for us that day. read more

Reindeer Games

Things got Merry quickly this morning at November Project NOLA. Cameron and his elf, Will, got the bounce started with some reindeer runs, Santa squats, and Snowman hugs similar to those given to relatives that you only see once a year. The newbies might have thought that the snowman hugs were a bit strange but its all part of the holiday spirit that occurs each and every Wednesday with NP_NO. Just like the song the 12 Days of Christmas, Cameron had something special for each day and each day had to be repeated while counting down similar to the jingle.  Although nobody finished and got their full 12 days in, it was one hell of a workout. The push-ups, jump squats, lunges and stairs that were all contained in the first five days of Christmas will have some wobbling tribesmen tomorrow as they recover.

Today the positivity award was given to somebody extra special that has been a part of our tribe since the beginning. Deborah tried to sneak out of the work out early and Cameron had to do some Quick verbal judo to keep her there for the award.  Therefore there was no lollygagging or water breaks after the 12 days were wrapped up and we went straight into a picture and the award while tribe members were still huffing and puffing. Deborah has been very supportive in our mission to remain at the Superdome. She misses only when she must and makes sure we know her reason why she was not there. Her recruiting skills are great and she continues to bring new people to our workouts. Keep it up Deborah and we will see you next week read more

Dead Roaches

You have not seen roaches until you have been to New Orleans.  Maybe it’s the tropical environment, or the below sea level altitude, or maybe roaches just like to party and figured what better city to live in than Nola.  Whatever the reason, the roaches down here are big and they are many.

At this point you may be asking yourself, “Why in the hell are they rambling on about Roaches?”.  Well, let me tell you.  As southerners, we detest cold weather. I mean we freaking hate it.  But instead of living in the world of negativity, we like to put a positive spin on things.  So with cold weather pushing through the greater New Orleans Area, we are really excited to have killed off the majority of this city’s roach population.  Now that is what we call positivity right there! read more

The Book Announcement by November Project

Here is the deal:

This past weekend in California we saw an Irishmen racer & his long-legged teammate rip up trail and land on the top of podium to win the Endurance Challenge Marathon Relay just outside of San Francisco. In the exact same race, we saw first time racers like Lucy McGoosey of November Project NYC step up and experience emotions she’s never had before over terrain she’d only seen in her dreams. From fierce to fun, from experienced to fresh newbie, from outgoing to reforming introverts, November Project has a story to tell that goes far beyond the history of how it all started and we do it every week as the sun is coming up. “NP” is living strong as a movement that’s on a roll into the new year. read more

Gobble Gobble

Today, as is every Wednesday, was a great morning.  Such great energy and community flowing through the group as the NPNO tribe members performed the PR workout.  For various reasons, the monthly PR workout is a more recent trend for the tribe of the Crescent City.  In thinking about this new staple to the monthly routine, we figured that we had no reason to stop at just the workout.  So, NPNO is proud to post the first edition of the NOLA Member Spotlight.  Each month, we will have a blog post spotlighting one of our tribe members, getting a peek into their lives, and showing off these people’s badassedness (yes it’s a word we created and are standing by it).  So to kick us off for the first monthly edition of the spotlight, we did a little Q&A with one of the Tribe’s favorite people, Emily Ferris. read more

Rocky VI

With our own NPNO heavyweight champ Preston running the show today, we put the tribe through the ultimate training montage.  We started off as we always do, some bouncing some hugs and a bit of stairs.  Then Preston’s Rocky theme of a work out got everyone’s blood pumping.  It all began with sprints up the stairs which were followed by 10 burpees with arms elevated mimicking Rocky. But if you thought that was it, you were mistaken. This being Rocky VI NP style, we had to throw in the full training cycle. The burpees were followed by some ramp action and hoistees.  Then a sprint back to the start for some push-ups to complete one round. We knew this would not be a 12 round fight, but we had a few members power through the cycle multiple times before a technical knockout.  Then to finish the day and stir in some extra fun, we decided to do a planking tabata. read more
