Exploring our vast city we stumble upon different landmarks, parks, shops, bridges, hills, dips, drops, climbs, towers, transients, whatever. We met a One Penn Plaza and owned it. Today we kept things PG-13 and started out with a little 8th GRADE DANCE. We made our kids get in pairs and that awkward group of three in the corner with the vagrant. As usual with our tribal dances, we kept room for the Holy Spirit. I think I saw some kids try to scurry off under the bleachers– heard Uncle Pete made out with a homeless guy behind the cafeteria. But hey, we are all one big happy tribe. read more

Coming off the exciting news of the #NPSUMMIT and the epicness that will unfold at the North Face Endurance Challenge in Madison, Wisconsin #ECSWI (Remember to use the code NOVPROJ25WI to get your 25% off the entry fee), today was just amazing.  For everyone.  It was a day of celebrating.  Celebrating our ups, our downs, our lefts, and our rights.  Workout was our Triple Triple.  Three exercises consisting of burpees, mountain climbers, and planking before running each loop of our magnificent grotto.  Things escalated and the workout got aggressive.  Humidity may have been around 80% but the vibe and positivity was at 110% and nothing could hold us down. read more

Brooklyn, We Came Hard (NYC)

The title of this post just came to me today.  It came hard.  And guess what? Today at the workout, we came harder.  Why? Because Brooklyn, we go hard.  And today was no exception.  Once you leave your base camp of Manhattan and start traveling and exploring this magical city and you will find some pretty cool shit.  Today in Brooklyn, we found that and more.   I mean two dudes just ran by and then showed up. Pretty rad. read more

Mansions (NYC)

Today was something, that’s for sure. Today was a day that the tribe came together.  Today, the tribe put it all on the line.  Today was PR Day.

After months and months of training together, sweating together, hugging it out after a shitty workout, today was the day.  The people were waiting for it.  The people were asking for it.  Training and training, working harder and faster than before.  Today was not about the fastest dude out there.  Today was about a PR.  Personal Record.  Has nothing to do with that guy that is behind you or the girl sprinting ahead of you.  It is about setting the bar for yourself. knowing that bar, and then pushing that bar higher and higher each month.  Today was a baseline of that.  You have your time. You have the amount of loops complete.  You know the course now.  So lets see what you have next month.  Time to go faster, stronger.  First of the month, We run Mansions. read more

Wait…..Where are we going? (NYC)

When we start each day in New York, we wake up in this concrete jungle we call home.  There are buildings that engulf us as we walk to work, walk home, and/or go for a run around the park.  We each are so small in this city of 8 million people.  You walk down the stairs, get on the subway, get crammed into a car with hundred of other people.  The sweat from those people dripping on your work clothes, humidity at a high from all the impending summer storms that roll through.  Stop after stop people get off, you breathe, then suck back in as the car get slammed packed again.  Your stop comes, you get off and walk above ground to the corner in Midtown, the Financial District, Upper East Side, Chelsea, etc.  The buildings towering overhead that the sun barely shines through.  You catch a glimpse of clouds as you walk through the throngs of people. read more

Supply vs. Demand (NYC)

Throughout the course of human history, the economic impact felt from those who have come before us is evident in our daily lives.  Striving each day to counter what the market is doing from the previous day, the battle continues on.  Time and time again we, through the fluctuating markets, supply and demand change daily, hourly, and sometimes every second.  Reviewing the last couple weeks of reports flooding in from Headquarters, a trend arose from the data– the supply of people attending has created a exponential increase in demand for #GrassrootsGear.  Today’s market showed this on an epic level. read more

POW! (NYC)

POW!

What else do we need to say? NOTHING! POW! POW! POW! The NYC Tribe brought the noise, energy, and POW to the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ monument.

Workout was both BADASS and BOSS.  Tribers buddied up into pairs —Awesome and adass. Group joined forces with 5 Hoisties each before splitting up. A’s did 3 Cannon Boom Loop (we’ve had this planned for months–no way we just made this up. You can’t make this shit up–it’s too good) while B’s planked. 5 Hoisty Hand-Offs. Then B’s ran Monument Loop while A’s did burpees. We did this for 10 mins. Then had a 1 min dance party intermission. Then A’s and B’s switched for 10 mins. We’ll call it the 10-1-10 format (again, planned out for months). read more

Welcome to the Thunderdome (NYC)

Today was pretty straight forward.  People showed up and we worked out. HARD.  People got sweaty real quick as the humidity was super high.  Did a 3×10 workout to keep people moving, keep people charged up, to keep building that COMMUNITY.  Visitors from near and far (#EdmontonInvasion).  Things became insane.  Local drummers were out helping us along the entire workout.  Faces are starting to come back that we missed for the past few months.  Some to injury, some to the weather.  Well we were there, we are #weatherproof.  So thanks for coming back and know this: WE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU. read more

Welcome to the Summer of ’70 (NYC)

First #SummerFriday in the books.  70 gorgeous people were out there doing a CLASSIC deck.  People coming from near and far, running hard off to get there.  The goal: Get NYC off their asses and to Just Show Up! Mission Accomplished? This mission is never over.  This mission is November Project NYC.  Nose goes in NYC.  Some of our tribe members were a little tired from racing the past two nights, but does that stop us? FUCK NO.  Came out strong and rocked the 100/100 deck.  I mean really, who skips the first Destination Deck workout EVER in NYC? Those that missed, sorry you couldn’t be there. read more
