Today’s Workout Brought to You By: Day Quil (SD)

If you’re like me, many of you may be feeling a little foggy about this morning’s workout. From the overcast skies to the multi-lingual good morning bounce to the incredibly confusing (but sounded perfectly clear in my head) instructions to the workout, today was a little off normal in San Diego. read more

Moist-ee Hoistees (SD)

Today’s edition of #MayhemMonday took us to Ventura Cove. A lovely little park that is very familiar territory to any and all Kelp Kabob-ers in the crew.

While we didn’t get in the bay and swim like those crazy kids, we all ended up wet enough that we might as well have. Since when did San Diego become as humid as Florida????? read more

Just Keep Swimming (SD)

Today we took #MayhemMonday – Beach Edition to Tourmaline Surf Park in PB.

Did you know Tourmaline features “Tourmaline Memorial” a monument celebrating surfers who have enjoyed the surf at Tourmaline, in the past and the present, including Skeeter Malcolm. Although surfers have surfed the area since the 1930s, Tourmaline Surfing Park first opened in May 1963; the idea for the memorial was conceived in 2006, and the memorial itself was completed in 2008. The motto is “Surf Well, Spread Aloha, Share Waves Without Judgment”. read more

Life’s a Beach (SD)

#MayhemMondays – Beach Edition kicked off in La Jolla Cove this morning.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Especially since my morning started by me almost getting eaten by a sea lion. All for you guys. It’s a long story, but a true one, and we should all thank Dennis for showing us the secret ninja stairs which got you guys out of the danger of running amongst the sea lions. read more

San Diego, Meet Navid

A few weeks ago this fella got the Positivity Award. And he wrote us his amazing story. Which we clearly need to share with you all.

Every day you have the power to change lives – your own and others. Continue to change the world for the better. Like Navid says, you are all beautiful people.

Rock on.  read more

Screw Thorns, Smell the Roses (SD)

Today we took to the Rose and Cactus Garden for the workout. A quick game of RPS determined whether you headed over towards the fountain (winners) or down the zig zag trail through the desert (losers). Both laps were hard, but the general consensus was the cactus trail was the harder of the two – which made the losers really the winners of the workout. Because nobody really loses at November Project, duh. Follow? No? Cool, we’ll blame any confusion in the blog post on the head injury (which was sustained by Ashleigh, not me… but concussions are contagious, right?). read more

It’s all about that PR baby (SD)

Today marked our second PR workout in our (not so) new home of Balboa Park. This meant that people actually had previous PRs to break, which resulted in some serious racing and sweating this morning. Speaking of which… track your workout HERE, or it didn’t really happen.

I personally love it when newbies come to PR day as their first workout. Nothing like getting thrown to the lions on day one. read more

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of 6 Pack Abs (SD)

If you missed #MayhemMonday this morning, you missed a lot. You missed a lot of planks and A LOT of burpees. We said this would be a workout people would be talking about for days to come. That’s most likely because every time they cough, sneeze, or laugh their abs will be screaming, reminding them of this morning. read more

We Missed You Helen, Eric, and Eugene (SD)

Editor’s note: In the almost 2 years since I’ve been leading a November Project here in the fine city of San Diego, I’ve written a few We Missed You posts. But honestly, not that many. Typically you guys are excellent about keeping your verbals. This week was an exception. A huge, epic exception as we had not only one broken verbal, but THREE. Three broken verbals, all accompanied by pretty amazing damning evidence.  read more

#MayhemMonday, Freedom Edition, Week 2 (SD)

This week we took to the “Unconditional Surrender” statue and USS Midway for week 2 of the Freedom Edition of #MayhemMonday.  After a very brief, yet official, poll we concluded that FAR TOO MANY of you had never been to the famous statue or Midway location. So I present you, a cliffnotes history of this morning’s workout spot: read more
