FIX50 is F’ing with our workouts

With the obstacle of a drive getting anywhere around Sacramento for another month with major construction on 3 major highways that connect into Sacramento, the tribe is forced to new and creative ways to bring people together. Even with the “FIX50” situation going on, one of the tribes members Chris was still able to bring along one of his friends who had to travel over 35 minutes just to get there. The Tribe Is Awesome! (SMF)

Today was a special workout. We came together – all Tribes of November Project – and supported a friend from the November Project SD Tribe . Gray was worn today for brain cancer awareness, in honor of a tribe member’s mother. It is a pretty amazing feeling to come together as a community to show our support for our fellow tribes…we’ve haven’t met everyone, but we love you all & support the shit out of you all! read more

To the Capitol! (SMF)

It’s about to hit 100 degrees today, so the smarter individuals in the Sacramento area came out and worked out at 6:25AM this morning to beat the heat. Even with the 60 degree morning temperatures, the sweat started pouring early with the Sacramento tribe.

The group gathered in West Sacramento before crossing the Tower Bridge to make our way to the steps of the Capitol building in Sacramento, this run to the Capitol was our warm-up before we started our routine for the morning headed by co-leader Haley. The morning workout had us throwing down some burpees, lunges, jumping lunges and other body thrusting exercises before making our way back to the meet-up point at the River Walk in West Sacramento. read more

Getting Up and Flying (SMF)

Just another day in paradise, not quite. Today, was one of those special days when it comes to November Project Sacramento. Morning Goosing (SMF)

Due to some lame excuse of freeway construction that is backing up traffic and causing for an added 40-60 minutes of commute time, co-leader Chris wasn’t in attendance for the second week. There our calling out of a co-leader.

Now to the good stuff … For the second week in a row NP_SMF met up at the River Walk in West Sacramento. Co-leader Haley got a new toy (a Garmin) and was eager to show it off to the group which created a stir. Apparently, the Sacramento Tribe is a bit on the geek side, but who isn’t. After the sharing of awesomeness, the real awesomeness got started. read more

Suns Out Guns Out (SMF)

Today we worked out at a new location – River Walk Park in West Sac. Beautiful river views, grassy hills and duck shit … lots of it. No worries we still had a great workout! It’s not like we ate the crap, it was just there so it didn’t make us sick just made us stronger.

Unfortunately, Sacramento is having some major freeway construction so co-leader Chris backed out at the last minute (actually more like 35 minutes before the workout after seeing the news reports of gridlock traffic at 5:50AM). He was too worried about not having enough time to get back to style his hair before the work day. He’s always calling Steph out, so today it’s his turn! read more

Familiar Faces (SMF)

With the beautiful Spring weather around us, it is time to get dirty and completely soaked with sweat. There is no greater thing than puddles and puddles of salty sweat and the smell of ass after a morning workout. Okay maybe a bit exaggerated, but you get the point.

The tribe of Sacramento has started to pick-up it’s steam with a cast of regular and familiar faces, though after today’s farewell, clearly some co-leaders know the tribe better than others. Co-leader Stephanie said farewell to Kevin, though there was no Kevin in the group. Perhaps the series of jump squats, lunges, crunches, leg thrust, mountain climbers, plans and jump-n-jacks made her delirious after the workout. read more

Tagging Trees (SMF)

Big Man Run 2012

On Saturday, June 23rd in Worcester, MA Brogan and Bojan raced in a Big Man Race – an annual road race/gathering of large humans (over 190 lbs). The race is almost an obstacle course that requires running 4 miles while stoping at 3 bar locations scattered throughout Worcester to eat one hot dog and drink one 8oz beer. 3 dogs and 3 beers later Brogan won the event while Bojan came in 6th. It’s important to note that no one puked throughout the course. We had a lot of fun and will be back next year! read more
