To the Capitol! (SMF)

It’s about to hit 100 degrees today, so the smarter individuals in the Sacramento area came out and worked out at 6:25AM this morning to beat the heat. Even with the 60 degree morning temperatures, the sweat started pouring early with the Sacramento tribe.

The group gathered in West Sacramento before crossing the Tower Bridge to make our way to the steps of the Capitol building in Sacramento, this run to the Capitol was our warm-up before we started our routine for the morning headed by co-leader Haley. The morning workout had us throwing down some burpees, lunges, jumping lunges and other body thrusting exercises before making our way back to the meet-up point at the River Walk in West Sacramento.

Both the warm-up run and cool-down involved some inadvertent sprints, as the group raced across crosswalks beating the little red hand that signaled “DON’T WALK”, or even when the red hand came up, the group decided the signal means don’t walk not don’t run … such badasses!

We also awarded the #positivityAward to Juan this week! Congrats dude.

Next week are moving our workouts to the Capitol building itself in Sacramento, meeting at the West Steps of the Capitol building. This is to create for more visibility and awesome photos! If you don’t know where the Capitol building is …  Shame on you!, but here is the address: California State Capitol , 1315 10th St, Sacramento, CA 95814 (West Steps are the steps facing the Tower Bridge). Make sure to help us spread the word via social media “like” us on Facebook and “follow” us on Twitter.  We also post some awesome photos and other things on our FB / Twitter to keep you guys involved during the week.
