We gave the Pope the bird? (YEG)

From the fast-typing-fingers of the tribe’s co-leader Ferknuckle…

We met at a bird today, I heard it was put there when the Pope came through.  It’s funny because when I woke up and saw fog and snow I said some very un-Pope-ish things.  We all showed up though because that’s what we are… show-er uppers.  Sorry for all of the — but that would have been shower uppers and would have confused everyone.  See all you for Wednesday, last one there is a rotten egg! read more

November Project CAN Went Transcontinental (YEG)

Two November Project Canada destination workouts went down Monday morning…

One leader lead a new bunch of recruits in London…From the words of @Ferknuckle…

Like a good first date, the first few minutes were a little awkward but within a half hour sweaty hugs are plentiful…okay I’ve actually never had a first date like that.  The meeting spot was Trafalgar Square which we got very politely kicked out of by the cops within 3 cards so we went to a park down the street. We had Londoners, Bostonians, Sherwood Parkians and Nottinghammers (just making shit up now). Bottom line is NP keeps bringing all sorts together, the feeling it brings is real life which can be hard to find sometimes. You guys gave people a way to connect. Wait, isn’t that what Facebook did? Why aren’t we all rich?! All I got was this shirt… read more

Rain drops keep falling on my head…(YEG)

April showers bring May flowers…but more importantly they also bring out the tribe!! (Even more so than Monday’s chocolate filled Easter eggs…weird…we are a crazy lot! I love you guys!!)

Way to go Edmonton…you continue to prove that the tribe is #weatherproof. It doesn’t matter if it is -36, snowing or raining we #riseandshine! While Nadim and I tagged your #grassroots gear we admired your commitment to climbing each and every one of the Royal Glenora stairs. Didn’t even see many “resters” at the bottom…didn’t want to stop in the rain did ya?! Prepping for next week’s race day I suspect. You all definitely earned your Wednesday! read more

A lot happened in YEG…

A lot went down this morning…here’s the quick recap…

  • We had sunlight – so nice to see all of your smiling faces!!
  • We had snow – at least we weren’t alone, I heard that New York had snow too!
  • We had newbies – Welcome Tina, Dale, Jason, Katie, Adrian, Mitchell & Sara
  • There were a lot of stairs climbed & Constable Ezio Faraone received many high 5’s
  • Nadim tagged grassroots gear – he said he was feeling under the weather and so he wasn’t doing the stairs and instead tagged gear…I think he was actually going through Coachella withdrawal and needed the paint fumes…hair of the dog right?
  • The positivity stick was awarded – Congrats Kerry…thank you for all that you do for the tribe!! Watch for Kerry’s blog dropping later this week!
  • Kacey and Nick  who are Boston-marathon-bound Friday we sent off with grassroots gear – Have a great run you two!!
  • We gave the snow and Edmonton weather “the fist” – our polite Canadian version of the finger
  • Hips-in hugs were given, hips-in hugs were taken and we went off to continue the awesome day we’d started together!
  • The tribe is growing…the tribe is strong!!!

    Danger…What danger?? (YEG)

The sign says “Danger”…I asked in danger of what?

    In danger of…

    • having a too much fun?
    • hugging too closely?
    • doing too many burpees?

Like the Lion King Simba says…”I laugh in the face of danger…ahahahahaha!”

This morning the tribe hunkered down and pulled out a 30 minute top-down tabata workout. What does that entail you ask? Well…here’s a quick summary: read more

    • mothers & fathers
    • sisters & brothers
    • sons & daughters
    • newbies & veterans
    • veterans & civilians

Manic Monday or Mandy Monday? (YEG)

The Bangles would call it Manic Monday but we’re calling it Mandy Monday!

    ♪♬ “Six o’clock already

I was kissin‘ huggin’ Valentino tribe members

    Jen’s Confession (YEG)

    I have a confession to make…

I woke up this morning to my 5:00 AM alarm, I checked my weather network app and said…”Fuck You -22! You suck weather! I’m tired to trying to prove that I am #weatherproof!” Good thing the app and the weather are inanimate objects or their feelings might have been hurt this morning as I hurled insults their way. read more

    Loved it! (YEG)

Can you think of a better way to spend Monday morning that involves anything other than doing burpees, squat jumps, lunges, plank jacks, push-up-side-planks & mountain climbers sandwiched between a dance-walk-warm-up and a Cadillac-Ranch-line-dance-cool-down?…Yeah us neither…so that’s why we did what we did this morning! read more

    YEG welcomes spring!

Welcome Spring! (we don’t even care if we are a day early) It was a beautiful morning in Edmonton today! Running up the 202 steps of the Royal Glenora Stairs over and over again almost felt lovely mostly because my lungs weren’t constricted and frozen. It feels so great when you can breathe! read more
