Sunrise 6 K & Other Announcements (YEG)

Details for Announcement #1

  • Holiday Monday – Sunrise 6K
    • Practice proper social distancing, create your own unique 6km run (try to be considerate and avoid places where people bunch together), and be smart. I can’t wait to see what routes you come up with while running outside, in your apartment, or even your backyard – you do you.

  • Rituals (YEG)

“Jen’s gotta go to work!” I caught myself saying this to Buddy (my dog) this morning as I left for school. I didn’t get the same reaction from Buddy when I said this as I do when Nadim or Rob say it as we prepare for our group photo. Your chuckles, the banter, and the energy you returned is missed! read more

    ELEVATE, MOTIVATE, SUPPORT others (YEG)

We are proud of our individual results but we cherish collective accomplishments. We inspire one another with hard work, we lead through our actions, and we support with our words. Nothing less will be tolerated, both at workouts and on online communities/social media.

    November Project Community Agreements

Today I want to give a huge shout out to our amazing community who continue to elevate, motivate, and support one another. Just in this past week I have seen you cheer on virtual marathon runs, crew river valley ultras, welcome new babies to the NP family, motivate others through your IG stories & posts, and gather safely as small cohorts to continue to encourage one another to keep moving. In addition, I’ve personally engaged in new types of conversations on how we can grow and improve in our inclusiveness and am aware that those types of dialogues are happening among our community members. All of this continues to build and strengthen our community even when we cannot be together physically and it makes me so proud. read more

    Happy Birthday NP Canada! (YEG)

Today is officially November Project Canada’s 7th birthday. 7 years ago, on Monday, July 15, 2013, Andrew spawned a group of early risers, inviting us to at Kinsmen Park, where the first of many-to-come deck workouts ensued. It was complete with fire drills that ripped us down some really fast slides. read more

Much to look forward to (YEG)

While this isn’t a “We’re Back!” announcement, it is a post to share with you some upcoming events that we’re really excited about. I know it likely doesn’t need to be said but I am going to say it anyway…you are all missed. I miss the connection, I miss seeing your smiles, I miss the hugs, I miss your good mornings…I miss you! read more

    #SeenOnMyRun (YEG)

Today’s blog post is courtesy of Maria. Each of us who have had the privilege to share space with Maria knows that she emanates joy. Her positive energy, kind heart, and grateful spirit are gifts she shares with our November Project community. During our video meet after Monday’s “Seen On My Run” NP Scavenger Hunt, Maria shared some of her learnings from the morning. What she shared resonated with me and I hope that her takeaways speak to you as well. Thank you, Maria, for gifting us with your reflections. read more

    New Routines (YEG)

    Y’all Good?

The last time I wrote about this I couldn’t say that I was feeling all that good. And while I still miss many things and have hard days, I can more confidently say, F-Ya! to that question.

I thought I would share some of the steps I have been taken that have helped me transition from mourning the loss of “normal” to creating a new normal. Just as I used to wake up excited for November Project and my non-NP day strength classes or look forward to connecting with my school and run communities, I have now found myself looking forward to my new routines. read more

    Y’All Good?

I miss hearing your collective response to that questions three times a week!

My responses have been mixed over the last couple of weeks. I am sure many of you may be feeling similar. There have been days when it has been pretty easy to get outside and run and others where I procrastinate so long that my intended morning workout turns into a 4-hour puzzle marathon. read more

    NP Canada Continues (YEG)

It’s hard to believe that’s it’s been less than one week since we’ve been presented with some pretty major detours to navigate. With changes to NP as we’ve known it, work situations, family situations, and the overall global situation – we’ve had to shift dramatically from what we’ve ever known. However, during this time of uncertainty, some things will always remain the same and, while challenged, our strengths will emerge. read more

    What's the catch? (YEG)

    #justshowup?

    #freefitness?

What’s the catch? What are you trying to sell me? What’s the ulterior motive? It can’t be that easy/simple/straightforward/uncomplicated

But guess what?! It actually is that simple!

November Project has always been simply about building community using free fitness. No strings attached. We aren’t going to try and sell you anything. We aren’t going to push anything on you or have expectations beyond asking you to just show up, give it your best for that 30 minutes and simply be a kind human being. read more
