Enjoying Hill Repeats (YEG)

And those who run in at least one group appear to enjoy running more than the lone wolves by a wide margin. This holds true for every country we surveyed.

Some of you may have already looked through Strava’s Why We Run project – it’s an interesting collection of survey data gathered from 25,000 Strava athletes who shared their whys. read more

The Hug (YEG)

“Ok, now find someone you didn’t come with and thank them from coming with a high-5 or an optional hug…and then have a great day! BOOM! 💥”

I said the statement above today after I finished taking the group photo, encouraging you to thank those around you for showing up and running hills this morning. It’s intentional and purposeful, an invitation for you to recognize one another for making the choice to get out of bed and move your body. read more

Lead Together (YEG)

I wonder what the staff at Denny’s thinks when on a holiday Monday a group of 30+ sweaty runners descend upon them with such positivity, energy, cheer, laughter, and lively conversation. I always hope that when we leave they comment on what a great group we are and how they appreciate when we come by for a post-NP-morning-Sunrise-6K breakfast. read more

Ready-Set-Let's-Go! (YEG)

Thank you for kicking off this morning with such incredible energy. I was excited to be back with everyone this morning after taking some time for a little extra rest and recovery Monday morning. Your enthusiasm during the bounce set the tone for the entire morning and was such an amazing welcome back. A special shout out to all of the encouragement on the stairs that I could hear throughout the morning. Even if you weren’t talking to me I pretended like you were 😉 Also, thank you to all of my burpee partners this morning. 5 perfect burpees was a challenge easier met with you by my side. read more

Prerequisites (YEG)

What a great welcome back after being away for a week. Running up to an amazing group assembled at the base of the stairs with cheerful hellos and welcoming smiles was an incredible way to start my day. Having three new people join our community and seeing everyone crush stairs kept that feeling of joy going as the city around us slowly began to wake up. And then, the icing on the cake was the “What’s in the Bag” curveball of buffs instead of buttons…what??!! YES!!! read more

Games Day! (YEG)

Did any of you come this morning expecting to workout both your bodies and your brains? Thanks to Rob and his creative spin on Wheel of Fortune you got to do both!

A bridge triple crown with consonant exercise sets and a vowel burpee challenge you all to solve the three phrases in under 30 minutes…with 7 minutes to spare! I suspect Rob was hoping for an even speedier solve time as 23 minutes of burpees was quite the feat. read more

Krylon!! (YEG)

Today was likely the only time you’ll see a can of Krylon spray paint in January at November Project in Edmonton. 💥YAY💥 to everyone who showed up this morning, ran the bridge deck, worked “the north and south sides” of their body, played a game of What’s in the Bag?, and were awarded with a bag full of NP buttons – the Krylon spray paint one! read more

Deep Freeze (YEG)

As I drove into the city this morning, it even looked cold! The ice crystals in the air created a natural filter that showcased the city through a chilly haze. It was actually quite beautiful. I felt a little like Elsa exploring beyond the wall (yes, this morning was a little of both – Frozen and Game of Thrones!) read more

How do you want to feel? (YEG)

Over the last few days, Rob (my husband) and I have been reflecting on last year and looking towards 2020. We are looking forward to some family adventures, our weekly Earls date nights, continuing our fitness goals, sharing family dinners, reading more often, and striving to be more present and off our phones (this one is mostly for me 😉). read more
