I wonder what the staff at Denny’s thinks when on a holiday Monday a group of 30+ sweaty runners descend upon them with such positivity, energy, cheer, laughter, and lively conversation. I always hope that when we leave they comment on what a great group we are and how they appreciate when we come by for a post-NP-morning-Sunrise-6K breakfast.
Thank you to each and every one of you who came and ran the 6K cheered each other on. The 6K morning is one of my favourites because it is a time when we collectively gather and support everyone, not that we don’t other mornings but on the 6K morning it is on display 100 fold! And, I love that the loudest and most praise comes as our final runners celebrate their finish. And…I don’t want to forget to mention that today’s edition of What’s In The Bag? revealed the Walterdale button!!
The Sunrise 6K and our visits to Denny’s and our representation at races, at gyms, at other run groups all relate to the NP Community Agreement: “Lead Together”.
We ask members to be active participants at November Project workouts and events, while also representing this community seven days a week. We all have a role and a responsibility to represent this global movement. From wearing #GrassrootsGear around the world, being November Project member does not stop at 7:30AM. Kindness, accountability, and hard work, are contagious, so feel free to spread them around.https://november-project.com/community-agreements/
Some of my proudest moments are when I hear (eavesdrop) on people at races and they are commenting on the positive energy that was shared on course by runners in NP grassroots gear. Or when I see you sporting your grassroots gear or NP buff proudly outside of our NP mornings. We are a community that I believe is well respected in Edmonton and internationally really. It’s so cool to go to events outside of your hometown and be recognized because you are wearing your tagged gear or buff. There’s an instant connection to this movement and what it stands for. This also comes with responsibility and expectations for how we each lead and represent November Project. As stated in the agreement – kindness, accountability, and hard work are contagious, so feel free to spread them around. I see our community doing this on a daily basis and it makes my heart smile. We are all ambassadors of this movement! Let’s continue to Lead Together!
