We would accept an application from Jaden any day (YEG)

You know those teenagers that you meet that rebel against every stereotypical belief that old people have about teens? They are polite, can hold a conversation, get along with their siblings and get their ass out of bed without their parents begging them to.  Ya, we got some of those here at November Project Canada and that makes them the coolest teens we know.  Jaden is one of our stars and she is guest blogging for us today.  She brings her badass self to the workouts before heading off to high school for the day and in the process gives our older tribe members redeemed hope for the future of our glorious country.  af read more

St. Patty’s Day and A Special Birthday (YEG)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Birthday to our Co-Leader Andrew!

This morning we sported green, listened to Irish jig tunes and partnered up for a workout worthy of any leprechaun or NHL defenceman! 7 was the lucky number as the tribe alternated between partner exercises of Hoisty-J’s, High 5 pushups, V-sit Jump-Arounds & Awkward Partner Squat Stares and Plank Jacks, Split Jumps, Squat Pulses & Burpees. read more

Tag Team Smack-Down in YEG

I’m sure you’ve heard of different WWE Tag Teams…but have you ever heard of the YEG Tag Team of Nadream and Jennyfear?

On Wednesday the two of them tagged up when Jennyfear jumped over the ropes after being on the sidelines for two rounds & they battled the weather together…there were piledrivers, headlocks, backbreakers and clotheslines delivered by the pair… but the ref…aka Vic the Virus…called foul…& Nadream found himself on the other side of the ropes and Jennyfear battled to lead the tribe in the nasty cold. read more

The Man Behind the Rise and Shine (YEG)

Calvin Delisle is an ambassador of the tribe. He is a protector of our country and a loving father. Calvin is the type of guy who finds something, and falls madly in love with it. In his first workout, we crashed a multicultural food festival, and after that, he proclaimed that he would get a tattoo. We’re not even sure if he knew that there would not be a festival every time. The only thing you really need to know about Calvin, is that he has your back. He’ll be there to do whatever you need, before you even know you need it. He had multiple copies of our stencils and way too many cans of spray paint before we knew what #grassroots gear was. I think he can read my mind. read more

Happy New Year from YEG

While many of us had only a nap last night we didn’t let that stop us from welcoming 2014 with Royal Glenora stair repeats. We even had a couple of NYE revelers cheer us on from the side lines! We welcomed two newbie this morning also…Tyler and Doug, it was great to have you!

The first positivity award for 2014 went to Camper Dave this morning. Dave lives the spirit of November Project…his twitter activity is an awesome ambassador for the movement and so supportive of his fellow tribe members. Dave can be counted on to lend a hand whenever needed & this morning he really kicked off the year…after our stair workout he left to do the city’s Resolution Run. Most of all, Dave is an example of the power of community and fitness…check out his goals for 2014! read more

YEG Countdown & Choirs

A gigantic, humungous, enormous, titanic thank you to Dave and Tanis who led the tribe in our final #destinationstation November Project Canada workout of 2013.

From the nimble typing fingers of Dave…

“The tribe was ready to say good bye to 2013 in style this morning. The air filled with anticipation…and choir music.  To the sounds of angels, we counted down 2013 with pushups, burpees, box jumps, squats, lunges and more. What ever we had remaining in us from this year was pushed into the workout and left at the Leg grounds, where it belonged.   One newbie came out and joined us in saying goodbye this year. As the sun sets on 2013, we leave you with our shadows of this past year, ready to take on 2014, November Project style.”     And…I, Jen, your faithful tribe member, am dropping a verbal for New Years Day! Start your year of right…see you at the Royal Glenora Stairs at 6AM January 1, 2014. There’s no better way to start the year than with the tribe!!

Balmy Friday Morning in YEG

It was a warm one Mr. Grinch!

We had a beautiful post-Christmas workout in Edmonton today. A snow-crusted, but not icy, Emily Murphy hill was poked, prodded and tromped upon as those of us not holidaying worked off the season’s goodies. Much of the tribe is spread out coast to coast from Richard in PEI and Ellen in Victoria, we hope that you have all found hills to eat for breakfast as well! read more

Merry Christmas YEG

Merry Christmas to our November Project Canada Tribal Family!

While many were still tucked in their beds with dreams of sugar plum fairies in their heads, our tribe was strong and moving!! Instead of racing down the stairs to see what Santa may have left for them, they were racing out the door to go up and down our Royal Glenora Stairs. We embraced our 8 newbies…yes 8!!! with an enormous group bear hug and our infamous Edmonton weather was sharing the warmth too! read more
