Totally buggin’ (ORL)

A small but mighty swarm of busy bees took on the inaugural bug ladder this morning (as the fresh dewdrops scared a few of our #weatherspoof friends away), and we all breathed new life into the first day of spring.

Who knew that a group flower pose was a thing? Our petals, pistils, and stamens were on full display (hm, that sounds weird) as we pretzeled our way through a quick warm-up stretch. read more

Skip it and reverse it (ORL)

A fast, fun partner workout was in the cards this week- and we made best use of the plaza to play a game of chance that had us adding up squat jumps, power push ups, oil rigs (a wheelbarrow-y squat and push up combo), and jumping jacks with our partners. A few skips and reverse jogs around the fountain, along with some sprints to each dock, kept our heart rates and body temps up in between card shuffles. What better way to keep us on our toes than by a random numbers of strength exercise reps? read more

The compass that guides you home (ORL)

The good people of November Project Orlando come from far and wide, but we all gather here on Wednesday mornings, where X marks the spot, to celebrate this free fitness movement that YOU create every single week.

Today, we welcomed Brad, Jean and Cindy from The Give Team, bright and early at 545am, for our warm up jog around the lake. They told us a little bit about their organization, and why they showed up to grind out a workout while carrying an unforgiving cinder block (named Cindy, of course) in preparation for next week’s Spartan Race in nearby Jacksonville, FL. #aroo read more

Shock to the system (ORL)

Dyani and I both know that things can sometimes get predictable in our corner of Baldwin Park. The rose colored sunrises, the sticky humidity, the burpees by the boardwalk… there’s a certain rhythm and familiarity that comes with gathering together for a workout in a confined space. An arena that that isn’t blessed with stadium stairs. A spot that isn’t surrounded by dusty hilly trails. Or a venue that’s smack dab against a national monument. read more

Everyone Summits (ORL)

The beginning of the year can be an uphill struggle. While we hope to make good progress toward our New Year’s Resolutions, recover from the pressures and pounds of the holidays, and enjoy nestling in the warmth of our beds every morning, we can all count on the fact that these Wednesday workouts give us the motivation and encouragement to get up, get out, and get connected. So no matter how much you want to drag your feet, seem to lose your stride, or get frustrated and give up, just know that when you’re with your tribe, #everyonesummits. No one gets left behind. read more

counting sheep (ORL)

another fine sunrise in baldwin park means another shot at making the morning count. after pressing snooze once, you probably threw on your shoes in the dark, and managed to make your way to the lakeside to greet your weary-eyed friends. if you’re feeling ambitious, perhaps you earn some extra credit and run a loop around lake baldwin to warm up. or maybe you bring a furry friend (or two) along because it happens to be their birthday today (yay luna!). but however you begin the day, you know that working out with november project will #makeitbetter. this goes for the other 48 tribes around the world who know exactly what we’re talking about. read more

shout it out with glee (ORL)

here at november project orlando, we like to think that our workouts are tough, that our community is tougher, and that no threat of #weatherproof can keep us from earning our wednesday mornings

for this week’s holiday hoedown, we held the annual #reindeergames, which involved a sprightly sprint across 12 stations (some strength-based, some just plain silly- i’m looking at you, #eggnogshot, and some running-focused. we can’t forget to highlight the opening ceremony which tested our wits and dexterity by attempting to unwrap (and unwrap and unwrap) a holiday gift while wearing oven mitts on our hands. thanks to my esteemed co-leader dyani for taking the time to wrap those boxes and giving us multiple reasons to get wacky on wednesday. read more

not just fair weather friends (ORL)

“brr, it’s cold out here. there must be some NP in the atmosphere! i said, brr, it’s cold out here. there must be some NP in the atmosphere! O-E-O-E-O… #iceiceice”

i’m learning that low temps are a pretty rare occasion here in orlando, but when they do come, the stalwarts still show up and earn their mornings. read more

CHAARGing my batteries (ORL)

the tribe had an opportunity at a two-fer this week: a special field trip to the UCF campus for our NPxCHAARG fall classic on tuesday evening, and then an all-new digit-exchange workout by lake baldwin for our wednesday morning festivities. here’s a recap:

on a balmy november evening by lake claire on the UCF campus, and in the spirit of encouraging girls to ditch solo workouts on the elliptical and to gather with friends for dynamic group fitness instead, the CHAARG group took to all four points of the compass to see how we brought our madcap zany energy to a circuit of bear crawls, box jumps, planks, and dips. ⚡️ read more
