The compass that guides you home (ORL)

The good people of November Project Orlando come from far and wide, but we all gather here on Wednesday mornings, where X marks the spot, to celebrate this free fitness movement that YOU create every single week.

Today, we welcomed Brad, Jean and Cindy from The Give Team, bright and early at 545am, for our warm up jog around the lake. They told us a little bit about their organization, and why they showed up to grind out a workout while carrying an unforgiving cinder block (named Cindy, of course) in preparation for next week’s Spartan Race in nearby Jacksonville, FL. #aroo

Teams of four spread out across Harbor Park and performed a circuit of kick sits, inchworm push-ups, Bulgarian split squats, and plank holds as the morning sun came up over the lake. No matter how far, or how long, each station took us, we always returned back to our home base, where our teammates welcomed us back with encouragement and a friendly smile. (and were probably relieved that we *did* return- looked like that inchworm up the incline was brutal!)

The spirit of our community works the exact same way: sometimes we skip a workout because a new work schedule takes us away from a 629am meetup. Sometimes we’re recovering from an illness or an injury, and need to take a week away from the tribe to recuperate. Some of us have recently discovered that we weren’t as #weatherproof as we thought, and still others succumb to #alarmfail from time to time, and have to miss out on all the good vibes we have going on.

But whatever takes us away from our personal health and fitness goals- those diversions that pull us astray from the bedrocks in our life, the hiccups that derail us from our natural lanes on the highway- remember that you can always point your compass back to Baldwin for an hour and feel included, validated, and hopefully, stronger than when you started the bounce. Remember that you can always return to that center by #justshowingup and making your presence felt in some small way, which ultimately improves the energy of the tribe and the people around you. We are always glad you’re here.
