World Takeover Continues

The piece, written by one of our Boston tribe members, was printed almost 2 years ago… Oh, how have things changed since then… BG was 30 and Bojan was 31. November Project was in two cities (Boston and Madison) and since then it has grown into sixteen in North America. A few hundred members turned into five or six hundred members on average at a single workout on the old seats/steps of Harvard Stadium. We grew, we expanded, we became more or less mature. But some things along the way have never changed. We still get November Project tattoos from time to time. We still strongly believe that our “grassroots” can grow far and reach wide, and that our community can remain strong as we grow in numbers. read more

Sunrise 6K (North America)

What started as an idea in Milwaukee to race 6K one morning instead of their usual workout, is now being spread into all of the November Project tribes in February 2015 as the first all-tribe race. Like the founding 6K fathers in the frosty “MKE,” we’ll all run this odd distance as a way to show off our training, to mix in some flat land, and finally get our scores on the board by using our new November Project tracker (recently built for $0 by one of our core Boston members). read more

Dear November Projectors (of all types),

(During my short, but powerful, experience with the November Project DC,  AKA “33 Hours With Steve”  I was reminded over and over just how lucky and unique we all are. My time in San Francisco and Denver were just as  amazing but it is the growing network of athletes across the country that has inspired this letter) read more

The note from Caleb Daniloff, a.k.a. Ethan Bookman:

The gun has officially fired on this book project thingamajig and work is under way. I love and appreciate all the support and enthusiasm. Definitely makes solitary work feel, well, not so solitary. While BG, Bojan, and I are ultimately putting this thing together, it’s your story, too. Every tribe member has contributed to NP’s ever-growing narrative and we want that represented in the final product. So I’m working on an oral history that will hopefully offer a colorful, compelling ground-level view from around North America of this ridiculously singular movement. Our dude Tony DiPasquale has kindly created a simple submission form where you can enter your content for possible inclusion in the book. I’ve posed a bunch of questions. You don’t have respond to every single one, but neon stars for those who do. Be personal, be specific, be yourself. I’m looking to have all tribe material in by late February. Truckloads of thanks in advance. read more

Online Tracker

Remember these?

If you joined our November Project family in the past year, than you probably don’t. These are the sign-in sheets, and they were used by each location to record individual scores from the workouts. Why did we go through all the trouble of recording few hundred chicken scratched, ineligible names and times, transfer them into a spreadsheet and then upload them into the blog post? There are a few reasons… read more

Trying To Get Into This House? Pledging for New NP Cities Starts Now!

Since the early 2014 explosion of November Project cities, Bojan and I decided to turn off the overflow of great intentions and try and focus on the seventeen cities NP had grown into. Quantity isn’t always better than quality and we didn’t want to grow too much too soon. We took the months from the early summer until now to hold strong, build strength, and culture with the Co-Leader connections. The main event of the year, the November Project Summit, brought all leaders and tribe members from all over North America to the same place and it was amazing. read more

Not just another year (MKE)

On January 21, 2014 my sister (Emily, Girl Schwabe) told me to contact Dan Graham. Although not yet acquainted with Dan, I was familiar with the name. He had started November Project Madison, known only to me at the time as “that crazy morning workout my crazy sister does.”  All I had heard for the past year was how (insert superlative) amazing, fun, tough, life changing etc…these works had become for her. Now, Dan (DG), was about to give birth to a new NP tribe in Milwaukee. Although not implicitly stated, it was assumed that if I didn’t make it to the first pledge workout, Emily would cut all familial ties and disown me as a brother. With kinship on the line, I agreed. DG had contacted me the same day and through only a few texts I could already tell this was going to be something special. read more

The Book Announcement by November Project

Here is the deal:

This past weekend in California we saw an Irishmen racer & his long-legged teammate rip up trail and land on the top of podium to win the Endurance Challenge Marathon Relay just outside of San Francisco. In the exact same race, we saw first time racers like Lucy McGoosey of November Project NYC step up and experience emotions she’s never had before over terrain she’d only seen in her dreams. From fierce to fun, from experienced to fresh newbie, from outgoing to reforming introverts, November Project has a story to tell that goes far beyond the history of how it all started and we do it every week as the sun is coming up. “NP” is living strong as a movement that’s on a roll into the new year. read more
