Before getting into the meat and potatoes of this post, I want to give a little introduction to Frankie. Frankie is ALWAYS down, to cheer, to have a drink, to help you move in, to work hard at a workout…sometimes after an uber ride a few short blocks TO the workout…but the main point is Frankie is one of those people that you need to have in your life. Someone who is always reliable, very intelligent, and has an emotional perception that very few can boast. One workout, Frankie took a liking to the “I’m a Star” call we do during star jumps, it fits him perfectly – and now he is our star. I have already rambled too much, here is Frankie’s guest blog:
Introducing STAIR MASTER 1.0 and other announcements you should know…
Greetings! Salutations! Is this thing still on? …

Sierra here, reporting live from Brooklyn, NY. First things first:
THE BLOG IS BACK.
In fact, it never left. I was writing you all eloquent soliloquies in the photo albums and I should’ve been doing them here. BOOM. PRESTO. We’ve made it back.
Exciting New Direction
Over the last six and a half years, the co-founders of November Project, Bojan & Brogan, have been expanding the movement while it continues to grow organically through passionate and dedicated volunteer leadership, weatherproof workouts, and supportive communities, all at the cost of zero dollars. But with expansion comes evolution and November Project is proud to announce the next chapter of the movement, as a nonprofit organization. This year, with the support of everyone in our community, the structure of November Project (NP) will be one that involves more than simply two co-founders.
Buckle Up For the Bear
November Project NYC has a few traditions that are just EPIC every year, and one of them is coming up in just a few short weeks. The North Face Endurance Challenge Series rolls into Bear Mountain State Park on May 5-6, and it is an absolutely must-do event. The entire weekend is a trail racing festival with races at every distance from 5k to 50 miles. On Saturday are the longer distances, starting with the 50 miler, 50k, marathon, and marathon relay. On Sunday they race the half marathon, 10k, and 5k. The trails at Bear are fantastic. They are challenging, with steep uphills, rocky downhills, and all sorts of other fun stuff in between. But don’t let that scare you off, this is an event that you won’t want to miss.
Roll the dice, lucky (funny) Valentine.
Good morning, Brooklyn 😬

You love me.
We’re an NP Family.
With a big group hug.
And a hi-five from me to you,
Won’t you say you love me, too?!
X2
Today’s workout went a little something like this…
#SpreadLove aka The Newbies: Alex, Eden (met the NP_NYC tribe snowtubing on Saturday), and Eliza from last week who missed the newb intro.
#Bouce aka The Weird: (please grab your nearest stuffed animal and read the picture caption above to the tune of “I Love You,” from the TV show with everyone’s favorite purple dinosaur—Barney.
2018 Winter Olympics | Dry Land Edition
Welcome to November Project Brooklyn’s 2018 Winter Olympics, the Dry Land Edition!

The tribe was split into three countries led by their three captains: Tara representing Columbia, Dan representing USA, and Tammy representing Jamaica.

The teams were counted off by, “1. 2. 3.” Then, the morning’s competition began! There were THREE EPIC EVENTS where team work, strategy, and a thing we like to call – MATH – came into play.
WIGGIN’ OUT | Behind The Run
We’ll start by saying, ‘Thank you,’ to all the runners who showed up, donated, volunteered and supported this event that was created on a bar napkin at the ugly duckling after way too many beers.

We’re sure everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. It’s a terrible disease, and we wanted to find a way to bring some cheer on the 2018 weekend of World Cancer Day. For some people, it’s a challenge running in 19 degree weather with tail winds whipping in your face. We had 42 people run, while wearing wigs, outside in that crazy weather.
About Just Showing Up – Guest Blog by Lauren Schorr
Lauren is fairly new the tribe, but she has come on and been a stud for this tribe. She is always showing up, she is always pushing her limits. she always has a smile on. Lauren, thank you for the blog, and thank you for being here:

Recently, I came across the following poem I wrote in college:
The Tribe Has Spoken – Crowdsourcing Fridays
Tribe!
You speak, and we listen. We wanted to hear what your favorite Friday workout locations from 2017. We took the top 4, and they will be the Friday location for the Month of January. Over the course of the year (Since the leadership switch) we visited 33 (Bethesda Fountain was not an option in the survey) different destination deck Friday locations across 4 boroughs (Sorry Staten Island). We had relay races, burnouts, played capture the flag, sharks and minnows, freeze tag, had workouts in squares, circles, parks, and castles, shivered, learned trivia (so many dead people) sweated, hugged, and high-fived all across The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.
A Different Kind of We Miss You

I want to take this time to highlight someone very special to our tribe. This morning we had the pleasure to make him our first tribe member to be awarded the PA twice, but if anyone deserves it, it is Lew. Some know him as Lew, or Joe, or Superman, or Wonder Woman, but whatever you know him as, you know him as a supremely positive, genuine, and selfless person who has likely impacted your NP experience whether you realize it or not.
