I’d venture to say that this morning was our first real summer morning. Bright sun, fresh air, warm smiles. The kind of weather very amateur photographers like myself dream of…pop that baby on auto and let the light do all the work. Today was a mix of field day and classic NP Fridays. Suz led a bounce that came in on the NP bounce scale at an 11/10. Then we ran hills, leap frogged friends and carried each other up and down the front of the mansion hill. Planks, bear crawls and lunges were also sprinkled among the madness. Lindy passed the #HardHatAward to Natty and we dispersed to our respective showers and days. Enjoy the weekend, Much Love!
Century, Burnouts & Birthdays (PHL)
Quick (work is busy) workout recap:
This morning’s brightness and warmth brought out a healthy number of humans for our 6:25 AM sweat session. After our morning suicides we broke into groups of 12 and did our famous (infamous?) Century Workout. Each team member completed 100 burpees, push-ups, sit-ups, squats and jumping jacks. After which we raced stairs, hugged and crowd surfed our three birthday girls Tammy, Christina and Lindy…HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADIES!
Happy (early) Patriot’s Day! (PHL)
The buzz is in the air — Patriot’s Day and the Boston Marathon is just around the corner…a few of our own will make the trek from Hopkinton to Copley on Monday and we couldn’t be more excited!
This morning we ran hills, hugged hard, sang Happy Birthday and gave well wishes to our Boston contingent. Shorthand version (Wisconsin Notes) of this morning’s workout: Hills; Burpees; Push-Ups, Cute Baby (Owen).
Better Know Your Neighbor (PHL)
Quick recap of this morning’s workout. It was cold. It was sunny. It was fun. After an energetic bounce and the introduction of 6-7 newbies into the fold we got down to it. Starting with suicides on the steps, we followed that with wall-sits, squats, sit-ups and push-ups. Tribemembers shared interesting factoids about themselves with one another, we hugged, we sweat, we took a group photo and all dispersed to our respective showers…
No Place Like Home (PHL)
A three-workout hiatus is all I got in me. Vacation is fun and all but getting back to the workout, the faces, the hugs, the warmth….ahhh it feels good. The warmth was particularly important this morning due to the 30 degree temperatures. I thought winter was gone for good! I digress. But seriously, watching your beautiful asses workout via social media from the other side of the globe gave me some serious fomo. And while I took a nice run through the streets of London and lifted many a Czech beers, nothing quite compares to 6:25 AM at the Art Museum Steps.
Figure EIGHT (PHL)
This morning the workout was simple yet effective. Figure 8’s with upper body, core and lower body workouts sprinkled in the mix. These are the precise types of workouts where YOU get to decide how challenging they are. For example, if you thought today’s workout was easy, you probably weren’t running with Richie. The dude was relentless and probably did 20 reps on the circuit. This is not to say that everyone (or even most) have to be at the front of the pack, but at the end of the workout, if you aren’t dripping with sweat and out of breath– you need to ask yourself if you worked hard enough.
Got Geotags? (PHL)
My relationship with Snapchat, like any good romance, has seen its ups and downs. Initially, I was ashamed to be associated with it. After all, Snapchat was the tween sexting app of disappearing photographs. Later, curiosity led me to download it…at first I shared my mostly inside, mostly crude jokes with a small circle of close friends. Fast forward to today- this grown man is a regular, proud, card carrying member of the Snapchat community.
Let There Be Light (PHL)
Today we caught out first glimpse of morning light. Gone (hopefully) are the days where darkness remains a constant for our early morning sessions. Today was mild and the sun peeked out early as we pounded the pavement at the Art Museum.
We modified our firedrill to include steps, loops, ramps, push-ups and sit-ups. We crowdsurfed our good friend Casey in celebration of her birth. And #NP_Homework was taken to some pretty high levels. Speaking of which…have you done yours yet? Remember get them posted soon, time is running out! Here is more info: https://november-project.com/instagram-photo-contest-np_homework/ You have until 2:59 AM EST on Friday to post your photo (silly West Coast time).
#Weatherproof Accomplished (PHL)
Sure we’ve had colder mornings, more snow, more wind, etc…but this morning was a special kind of ugly. The large, wet flakes that make running, biking, or really any other outdoor activity…well just…annoying. Enough accumulation to make the ground slick but not significant enough to justify a late arrival to the office. This was the kind of morning we were dealing with…
Pain Train (PHL)
Friday morning’s workout was quite possibly the most taxing in recent history. It was simple, straightforward and really, really fucking hard. The first 30 minutes we split into pace groups of 10-15 people and did Indiana Jones runs from the front to back on Lemon Hill. We followed this with a 5 minute rest and finished the workout with 5 minutes of burpees. 40 minutes. That’s all. Weekend earned.
