They’re All Face Cards!

Said tribe member Colleen McSupple about the cards laid out for today’s workout.

IMG_1199Maybe she’s right..just kidding, we wouldn’t do that to you guys! Or would we…Anywho, today’s workout was a spin off a previous workout thought up by the fab and fierce Carly Danek. Cards were placed in a central location and each suit was associated with a different direction. Now, the first time we did this, we put the cards a the top of Gold Metal Hill. Today, homebase was at the bottom of the original hill. This made for a surprisingly tough and tiring 30 minute workout. read more

An “OG” Original

This morning brought back some members that have been hibernating. This morning also brought back a workout we like to throw down on regularly because it’s f*ckin hard. The morning started off with a hard warm-up too. 100 push-ups total with boys and girls divided into two lines that alternately did increasing push-ups from 1 to 10 and back down again. How do your arms feel?! read more

Message Delivered

This morning the humidity was low but the morale was high.  A cloud-dotted sky was brightly overtaken by a shining July sunrise as the 6 O’ lock hour approached.  The pitter-patter of athletic shoes of all sizes could be heard if you listened closely. The tribe was making their way to the Mill. As the clock struck 6:27am, the tribe formed a close circle. Tribe leader Ben Bauch bellowed from the middle of the pack for the newbies to jump into the center.  Among these newbies was #NP_DC’s very own Dustin Renwick, a name that each and every November Project tribe will get to know throughout this summer and fall. Renwick has plans to complete a cross-country/Canada trip including stops in all NP cities. Badass. read more

Pride & Piñata

There were two main themes at yesterday’s workout: rainbows and candy. Each supporting a recently past or upcoming celebration.  #GrassRootsGear was tagged in either classic black or rainbow pattern in support of the pride celebrations that took place this past weekend.

We had a pretty badass paint crew tagging during the workout. Special thanks to Rachel White, Carly Danek, and Jeremy Reichenberger. read more

Rock, Paper, Sh!t Talk (MSP)

A successful weekend in the books for plenty of Minnesota runners, and among them, plenty of November Project members. Congrats, once again, to all of you Grandma’s Marathon finishers.

Good Morning! Fuck Yeah! Bounce!

Our new workout this week piggybacked on a classic game. The game, Rock-Paper-Scissors. November Project is a welcoming environment, however shit-talking is in full effect whenever Rock-Paper-Scissors is involved. read more

The Compass Rose

The morning always starts with a bounce. Sometimes it’s a slow bounce, sometimes it’s a baby bounce. This morning, it was a “joggy” bounce that turned into a massive bounce that ended in a “GOOD MORNING” and “F*CK YEAH!”

Minneapolis is heating up and so is #NP_MSP.  A new workout was on the docket today, a great suggestion by our own Carly Danek. We call this workout the compass rose because there are four directions in which tribe members take off in after drawing a card from on top of Gold Metal Park hill. A hodge-podge mix of 3 decks of cards were spread out face-down on top of the hill with tribe members gathered around them, ready to grab a card. read more

#RaceEverything: The Sunrise 6K 2.0 Experience

This morning #NP_MSP put #raceeverything to good use. Not only did we race each other, we raced the rising sun, and then the incoming storm.

Sunrise 6k 2.0 6_3_15 021Today is National Running Day.  There’s no better way to kick off such a valuable morning than with a race. MSP tribe members took off this morning from the middle of the stone arch bridge all the way out to Main Street or “Historic St. Anthony Main.”  They traveled all the way down to the train bridge that can be sighted on the left-hand side, turned, and then made a loop on boom island, high-fived Ian “No-BS” BS, and made their way back the way they came. read more

Stone Arch Shuttle in Reverse

After a rainy Memorial Day weekend, MSP was desperate for some sun.  And that’s just what we got this morning.  The gloomy clouds that had been looming over Minneapolis finally broke and the sun stretched its cramped legs just in time for this morning’s Stone Arch Shuttle- in reverse-workout. As the sun greeted us, the temperature rose, making the morning pleasantly sweaty/sticky. there’s no better feeling than sticking to your fellow tribe members when you hug them after a workout! read more

Do it for Hermes.

Sometimes you show up at NP Wednesdays groggy.  Maybe you didn’t sleep enough, or you got lost, or you’re still digesting the four eggs you had for breakfast.  Whatever it is, showing up at Mill City during sunrise tends to wake you up.  The overlarge steps leading down to the bluffs, the towering grey silos of Gold Metal Flour, the looming mass of the Guthrie theatre that sucks up the rising sun even as it bathes the plaza in golden, wake-the-fuck up morning solar joe.  You stumble towards your friends and your mind wakes up first while your body slowly registers that it’s time to start moving.  Minneapolis is a beautiful city, and we  celebrate that every time we come together and share/occupy/take over urban spaces with moving bodies. read more
