Wednesday Workout – Climb Every Mountain

Alright adventurers!! Grab your gear, we’re going mountain climbing in this week’s workout!!

For this week, we’re working through a modified ladder workout that we like to refer to as a mountain workout. Each round contains 6 moves. The first move you’ll do for 10 seconds, the second for 20, the third for 30, fourth for 40, fifth for 50, and the final sixth move for 1 minute. Then you get a 1 minute break at the top of the mountain to grab a drink of water and enjoy the views before heading back down. Pick up where you left off with 1 minute and work your way back down. Take another break and challenge the next mountain. read more

Science Fair Workout!!

Welcome to science class!! We’re going to be combing up some great moves to see what we can come up with in this workout that may be a bit explosive!

How this works

You’ll rotate through the moves for each round for the time indicated (it changes every round so pay attention!) At the end of each round, we’ll spend 1 minute doing whatever move those combined into! So for example, for experiment #1 you’ll rotate 10 reps of squats and 10 reps of jumping jacks for 4 minutes. Once the 4 minutes are up, you’ll do 1 minute where you’ll do 1 squat and 1 jumping jack. read more

Are you a Hero or a Villain??

What really makes a hero? Is the villain really a bad dude or just going for a different goal? The choice is yours!!
In this workout, you’ll be presented with a scenario and what the plans of both the hero and the villain. You choose which one to side with. Both have 2 exercises with rep counts. Once you pick your side, you’ll alternate between those 2 moves for 3 minutes (it goes QUICK!) before moving on to the next scenario. Try to aim for no more than a 90 second break between rounds.
Any Questions? Are You Ready?? Yeah, you’re ready!!

WTF am I doing?

Kelona November Project

It’s Wednesday. It’s 5:45am. My Alarm clock is belting “Forever Young” by Alphaville. It’s minus too much outside. It’s snowing. WTF am I doing? Every part of my body and most of my brain is saying to me that the time for morning burpees was in the Alphaville days. Its not 1984 anymore. I’m not a kid anymore. It’s time to hit snooze and stay in bed. But that was only most of my brain saying that… there is that tiny voice that starts with a whisper and slowly grows with each electronic pulse belting over the speak until I can no longer hear “go back to bed” and can only hear “JUST SHOW UP!!!”. This is November Project. read more

Phoenix- Let’s Take it From “Cacti” to “Cactus”

Visitors often think the desert looks inhospitable. Well, they’re wrong. My family doesn’t just survive here, we thrive here. Heck, have you seen how my tribe packs the local hills and theater during the summer? True inspiration.

I’ve seen a lot of new years come and go. Think these buff saguaro arms grow overnight? Well, they don’t. I’ve been lucky that my tribe’s awesome workouts keep me looking young, but don’t be fooled, I’ve seen many moons. Between family photosynthesis sessions and binge watching my cousins on Planet Earth, I’ve had some time to reflect this holiday week. read more
