#TheTribeIsGettingFaster (IND)

An outgoing but discriminating black kitten showed up today. She did not want to be captured and sterilized, thank you very much. She played hide and seek with the early birds and ate bugs, until the tribe started running around at which point she observed from under her shrub.  Enough about the kitten, already. #TheTribeHasAPet read more

Play Date in the Rain (IND)

Lesson number one this morning:  The only response to “Y’all Good?” is “”Fuck Yeah!” Good—hope you took notes. There will be a quiz. Today we played Little Kid Games barefoot in the rain and lightning. The Reckless One was overjoyed and The Safety Officer cringed and protected the Music Mullet. The Fancy Photog bailed once it started pouring. No worries. #TheTribeIsWeatherproof. Lesson number two this morning: “#JustShowUp first. #Weatherproof second. #SafetyThird.”  Now you know—that is how November Project will always and forever roll. read more

System Shock (IND)

Today was a chilly 54 degrees in July. The tribe be like “whhaaa?”  If the summer polar vortex wasn’t enough to shock your system, the workout will getcha. Our standard #UpAndOver was spiced up with burpee box jumps, elevated push-ups, a squat/box jump ladder and tricep dips with 25 minutes on the clock. We finished it off with everyone’s fave, the cheer tunnel. read more

All Tribes Lead to Madison, Wisconsin (#ECSWI)

Update: To connect with all the people that are racing in this event check out this group or put your information down in this spreadsheet if you’re looking for a partner to take on the race.

There are certain bands that have giant followings when they go on tour. Phish, Rolling Stone, Dave Matthews Band. They have an almost family quality in their mob that brings people from around the world to gather, camp, party, dance, and love on one another. You’re in the same space and before you even meet that biker with the Aeorosmith cut-off you know that you and she share the same values just because you’ve traveled to this exact place on earth, for this exact experience. read more

Power Half Hour & Come Home Bobbie (IND)

Indy did the famed Power Half Hour today, and they did it right!  1 minute of each exercise, on each 5th minute sprint a large flight of stairs… all perfectly timed to minute long songs with a pavlovian ding at the transition.  Each ding left the tribe salivating for more beer… or was that sweating for more heart pounding workouts? read more

No Fun Was Had (IND)

On this day in Indy, NPers decked out in ‘Merica gear (probably the outfit they wore last night to the World Cup Watch Party) showed the eff up. We bounced, hugged and sweat out that pesky hangover.

The partner style workout consisted of Piggyback rides; yes you read that correctly—to piggy upon a back in riding fashion, walking lunges, Hoisties and Bojans. “Is this a Bo-jan?” Sweet Jesus, this person is not even a hillbilly. “No, no, no—it’s pronounced Boy-an. But yes, that is correct.” read more

Glow Stick Relay (IND)

The Reckless One just returned from Ragnar and still has relay on the brain. So today the Up and Over became a relay. The tribe was divided into five teams of four. Runner 1 ran Up and Around to the exchange. The Glow Stick Baton was handed off and Runner 2 ran Down and Up to the exchange. Runner 3 ran Around and Down, to the exchange. And Runner 4 started it over, by running Up and Around, to the exchange. While the teammates were running, the panting tribe members performed the beloved Deck of Cards which was strategically awaiting them at each exchange. “Hey—remember the last time we did the Deck of Cards?” (Audible grunts) “Yeah, in a puddle! Oh look, these are the same cards.” “I hate Burpees!” Yeah, well Burpees love you and want your bod to be rockin’. read more

Sweaty Partner Pop Quiz (IND)

Today the tribe got down and dirty with someone they just met. Bowchickawowwow…no, not like that. Tribe members were encouraged to converse with their partner (“Where ya from?” “What do you do for a living?” “Favorite color?” etc.), essentially getting to know each other between pants, grunts and swear words. read more

The Tribe Trumps The Safety Officer (IND)

Wow. Just, f***ing wow. The tribe was hungry this morning. No, not just hungry. They woke up ravenous. They looked at the weather radar and said, “Honey Badger don’t care.” They didn’t stay in bed and slumber through the torrential rains, thunder and lightning that blanketed Indy this morning. No… As the Leadership, who will henceforth be known as The Safety Officer and The Reckless One discussed options due to dangerous lightning (we do run #UpAndOver a building, for the record), the tribe descended upon us like moths to a flame. Clearly cancelling was a not an option. We briefly entertained the idea of a sheltered workout under an overhang at The Federal Building. Just as The Safety Officer and The Reckless One had developed Plan B, a security guard approached and informed us that only walking and standing was allowed in that area—it is The Federal Building after all. Despite The Safety Officer’s impressive negotiating with the security guard, we were forced to vote: a weak showing in favor of #TomorrowNotToday, and a unanimous majority in favor of running stairs in the torrential downpour and risk getting hit by lightning. #NotTomorrowToday! The Safely Officer cringed and The Reckless One and the majority of the tribe beamed with delight. #FuckYeah! read more
