The Sounds of Fall are…falling (IND)

Race Day was rife with PRs!! As the unseasonably high temps fall, so do our race day times!!

(Hamilton already crushed his sit-ups, but is waiting for Mike to finish. What a great friend!!)

Lots of Announcements and coming ups, so let’s just get in to it!!

Friday – Workout will be on the North Meridian St. spoke of Monument Circle.  The theme will be “Let’s Hear it For the Boys” as we will be sweating with our lululemon friends as they roll out their campaign to showcase the dudes.  (Editors Note: Finally we are getting a little love here, amiright guys?!?!). That was a joke, but if you wish to complain please forward all complaints to Casey Seaton.  Seriously though, there should be some good lulu swag as well as just a general great way to earn the weekend!!  There is even an event page – #signup: not required #justshowup: mos def required. read more

Believe in YourSelfie (IND)

Every several months we like to break out the “Call Me Maybe” workout…not only for the fact it is a fun way to mix it up and one of the tougher workouts we do.  But, mainly because those who haven’t done it always give me the same “concerned/not really sure if they should” look when I tell them to write their number down and drop it in the bucket.  That whole “what exactly is my personal contact information going to get used for” mentality really kicks in….and I love it.  What I also love is forcing friendships upon people, which accomplishes as well.  If you were there today, you have a new friend’s number…use it wisely.  Send them dozens of text messages without their reply asking how they are doing, where they are, and why they aren’t texting you back.  Or – just send the selfie with a movie quote and call it a day.  Your choice. read more

Keep Rollin’ (IND)

My version of a news-style blog post today as I have my sights set on a new career choice…newsing the shit out of shit.

The Workout:

Felt like fall on the South Stairs of the War Memorial today as we broke out the wax for the old “Mustache Flight Pattern”.  Up to the gold door and choose either East or West door where the luck of the roll determined your exercise fate.  Then back to the south stairs, don’t forget the tricep dip, back up to the door and go the other way.  Repeat until svelte. read more

Quick Announcements and an Important Topic (IND)

Announcements:

Friday’s workout will be on the NORTH end of the Canal Walk in front of Bugg’s Temple/IU Health.

As we continue to make our city our gym and explore every/learn every bit we can, every 3rd Friday of the month, we will be working out at different Indy park.  We hope to keep these within running/biking distance of The Circle as to incorporate that in to your workout and make them accessible. read more

There goes ANOTHER ONE!! (IND)

An unseasonably cool morning in July was more than welcome for this morning’s #raceday.  It was end of the month shenanigans as normal as people cursed their way through the grueling race day workout many of us know all too well.

Since race day is nothing new, and these blogs can get repetitive, I will focus on the other big news of the morning as we said goodbye to Tory and Patrick.  Who, individually are two of the most energetic, smiley, loving and all around positive people that I have ever met.  And, as a couple, they are a FORCE!!  They also each received the Positivity Award, but since we were pressed for time, we had to award the PA twice in one day.  Much deserved for both of them. read more

Hot Cross Runs (IND)

Editors note: The working title for this blog was “Crossterfuck” but I assumed it might get flagged by wordpress so I figured I would just make it the 10th word in the blog to be safe.

After Casey regaled us with his “Inception” style bounce, it was off we went as we Kris Krossed (sic) all over the War Memorial and surrounding sidewalks.  Too long to try to explain on the blog, but basic gist:  Two lines going up and over in opposite directions, lunge across the south end of the war memorial while high-fiving those going the opposite direction, then back to the north side where runners would take the sidewalks to the east or west doors.  Then switch sides.  Exercises were push-ups and crunches with a burpee to start and finish each one.  If this doesn’t make sense to you, good…you should have been there. read more

A Good Day (IND)

Last race day I recreated the song “Regulators”.  This month…I won’t be doing that.  Instead it will be a series of notes.

Wisconsin Notes:

Today was Race Day.

It was also “Tag Your Shirt” Day

For some of us, it was also “Tag Your Entire Body in an effort to figure out where you are getting your tattoo” Day.  Later turning in to…”researching what Krylon paint can do to your skin when left on for an extended period of time” Day. read more

Hangin’ Tough (IND)

With the saddest of hearts, the tribe said “Bye, Bye, Bye” to Howard as an NP Indy mainstay as we wish him well on his move to Charlotte and sent him off with a Boy/Girl Band workout.

The Workout:  The Anatomy of a Boy Band

Everybody knows there is a formula for making up a perfect boy or girl band.  You need to right mix to get hits.  So we took the boy band formula, found the corresponding muscle group, and now we’re at the top of the charts. read more

Yo! NP Craps (IND)

Hot hand in a dice game, baby girl!!!

NP Indy played a little high-stakes back alley dice on the War Memorial this morning.

The Game:

Teams of five roll two dice – the number on the dice corresponded to an exercise.  Then one die was rolled again, and that number was multiplied by 5 to determine how many reps.  Easy, peasey, Bolognesey. read more
