Howlin’ at the Blue Moon (IND)

We woke, we rose, we hugged, we howled, we racedayed, we PRed, we cheered, we went home, we showered (hopefully)…then it was 7am.  A full morning with a full moon and full hearts.

The crisp temperatures of our final day in January gave us great #raceday conditions and even better vibe.  We even got a newbie at the 5:28am group!! Which…this time of year are few and far between. read more

Snowball Target Practice (IND)

Another single digit workout tag earned today as my cell phone showed me 2°F (-17°C) before it froze and stopped working.  So we’ll just use that as the official temp for today’s workout.  But, #weatherproof doesn’t mean just working out in any weather, it means using the weather to your advantage!! A couple weeks ago, it was “Snowangle Leg Raises” (patent pending) and this week it was “Snowball Target Practice to choose your workout fate” (patent…secured).  We set up a target and each person threw a snowball at it and whichever you hit…you owed 20 reps of that exercise and 10 reps of the other two exercises.  Exercises were: read more

Find Us in the Club (IND)

The singles club that is….It was the second Wednesday in a row that if you #justshowedup you earned your Single Digit Tag™.  With temperatures starting at 5°F and topping out at a balmy 8°F when it was all said and done (which incidentally is 5° and 8° warmer than last week, respectively), we put those resolutions to the test.  But, the good thing is that we heated up pretty quickly as we employed the “Mustache Flight Pattern” on the north side which always involves a fair amount of running. read more

A Competition to Cap off this EPIC Year (IND)

It’s no secret around the global November Project community that NP Indy has been ABSOLUTELY CRUSHING 2017.  Between the growth in numbers, “buy-in”, stadium workouts, local media coverage (and national with Andrew’s accomplishments), and ultimately being named the Indy’s Best Outdoor Workout of 2017, the Indy tribe has had one epic year.  The reason for this is because we have some absolutely amazing and creative humans in this city that love Indy and love this community. read more

5 Golden Doors!! (IND)

In what has become an unofficial goal for NP Indy, we take songs that you normally like…and we ruin them for you.  We’ve done it with burnouts, we’ve done it with bounces, and now we’ve done it with Christmas music.  We celebrated the season (and the first day of Hanukkah) with our “12 Days of Christmas” workout. read more

We are Thankful for INsPiration (IND)

So, Casey was on blog duty this week but apparently his office internet is down so we will have a joint effort as he texted me his intro.  Which, you can probably tell is by Casey as he, much like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Seuss, has a very specific rhyme scheme.

Casey: “Absolute smash and thrash of the stache dash this mornash (Dutch for morning, ask anybody at NP_AMS)!!  Andy is getting triple teamed on the college football burpee bets, so good luck to him this weekend.” read more

Purpose is that feeling that you are part of something bigger than yourself – Meet Timmy (IND)

If you have been to any of the NP Indy workouts or social events over the past couple of months, chances are you have met Timmy.  While he is fairly new to the NP family, he dove in head first!! Fully buying in to the themes, the vibe, bringing newbies, spreading the hype, and even doing doubles!! In just a short time, Timmy has become an amazing presence at NP.  read more

Get Lifted (IND)

This has been a very inspiring week for the ENTIRE November Project community.  In New York City on Sunday, we saw Shalane Flanagan become the first American woman in 40 years to win the New York City marathon.  Believe it or not, Shalane is no stranger to November Project, in fact, below is a picture of her receiving the Positivity Award at November Project Boston in 2014. read more

#stairsforbreakfast (IND)

Just like the old days with a giant bowl of Sugar Smacks, we dug in with a “Cereal Killer” workout this morning.  Captain Crunches and Kix on the north side with Apple (Plank) Jacks and Oatmeal Square (Push-ups) on the south were all part of a balanced breakfast.  We even threw in some Corn Pops (Side Frog Jumps) to connect them all with the up and overs.  And to wash the whole thing down we went sky diving burnout courtesy of DG, Roger, and Christine from NP Milwaukee. read more

Giddy Dad Jokes – Guest Blog w/Andy R. (IND)

Whenever I flip through pictures of ways to hype the workout I always land on a picture of Andy. He’s always got a smile, he always indulges Casey and my crazy theme ideas with a killer costume, and he has recruited more Lilly employees than Merck (Ed Note: Not sure if that is even funny, my pharma humor is lacking, but I am trying to channel my inner “dad jokes”).  Giving Andy the Positivity Award was a “no-brainer” as he has become such a huge part of the November Project Indy movement. We love when those in the tribe want to share their stories, and Andy has offered to share his.  Have the feel rags handy because this might hit you in them – Shaw read more
