An unseasonably cool morning in July was more than welcome for this morning’s #raceday. It was end of the month shenanigans as normal as people cursed their way through the grueling race day workout many of us know all too well.
Since race day is nothing new, and these blogs can get repetitive, I will focus on the other big news of the morning as we said goodbye to Tory and Patrick. Who, individually are two of the most energetic, smiley, loving and all around positive people that I have ever met. And, as a couple, they are a FORCE!! They also each received the Positivity Award, but since we were pressed for time, we had to award the PA twice in one day. Much deserved for both of them.

I feel like we have been writing way too many “goodbye” posts, planning too many going away parties, and sending too many of our amazing tribe members out in to the world only to be seen on holidays and random visits. As tough as this is, it is part of us growing as a tribe and as a community. One of the amazing things about November Project is the connection that you make with people in such a short time. We say this time and time again, but the actual workout is almost second to the people you are working out with. All the hugging, the name games, the partners, the team workouts…they bring people together so quickly that it is hard NOT to get attached to those you may have just met. As leaders, Casey and I constantly reflect on how we are doing and try to measure our effectiveness in an effort to always improve ourselves and the NP Indy tribe, and one of the main things we look at is strength of the NP Indy community.
Our tribe is STRONG. And, as much as it hurts to say goodbye to some of our close friends (even if we have only known them a short time), I guarantee you, it is just as hard, if not harder for them to say goodbye to us. And that is a sign that we are doing something right. As a group, we are creating a community and a movement that is hard to say goodbye to (cue Boyz II Men). It is an amazing thing when one of the toughest things to leave in a city is a group of fitness weirdos who wake up anywhere from 4am to 5:30am to go workout in the elements.
So keep it up guys!! Keep creating these lasting bonds, keep building this vibe and strengthening this community to the point where it is hard NOT to become attached. The reality is, we will be bidding farewell to more tribe members, some very soon (looking at you Anne), and others hopefully in the very distant future, but let’s counteract that by welcoming even more. Our legacy is the impact we are making on each other’s lives and that is a powerful thing. Each and every one of you who shows up is making an impact. I would say that’s a pretty great measure of success.

You all continue to amazing me. Great work today!
