What happened in Vegas? (Worcester)

We were all half awake in the airport Monday afternoon seeking food, (more) beer, and sleep. Didn’t we just get here? Where did the past 3 days go? We likely all had enough of each other by this point, but at the same time wanted more.

This year, Worcester had over a dozen show up for Summit7, and many of these faces had never been to a summit before. That said, I opened it up for anyone who attended to write a small recap from their point of view, because everyone hears my opinion enough as it is. read more

Winter Wonder(where we are)land. (Worcester)

We are at that time of year where every week, we do the slip test on the metal stairs in the stadium. When the need to do this “test” becomes regular, that means it’s time to make a choice. We joke around about safety a lot, but it is our top priority. That said, as of 12/4/2019, we are going to be relocating to our winter spot, The Common, right in front of city hall. read more

Team. (Worcester)

This morning felt a little off. We’re still getting used to it being dark early, or at least I am. It was a bit gloomy out with the dark and the rain, and attendance was a bit lower than usual. Normal for this time of the year.

We are weatherproof (RIGHT EVERYONE?) , but we are human and we are not mood proof. read more

Four Years Later (Worcester)

Showing up for the first time to a group workout is scary. I don’t care how friendly and outgoing you think you are, it’s scary as hell.

I had heard of November Project that had just started up in Boston, but to drive from CT, I’d never get there and then return back to Worcester for work in time. I then started to see these tagged shirts popping up everywhere and thought, Lord, this is some shit. This is a CULT. I immediately assumed it wouldn’t be my thing. Forget that. I’m content where I am. (emphasis on CONTENT) read more

Pride. (Worcester)

Everyone had their rainbow tagging in June and then, 3 months later, Worcester celebrates pride. We like to be fashionably late. So what.

Sleepless in Seattle (Worcester)

The intent of this blog is to recap the 2019 Meeting of the Minds.

Wednesday was travel day. I was blessed to hop on the flight to Seattle with none other than #Stevemovesmountains from Providence. Side note- Steve is the man you want to travel with. He upgraded our seats to AND from Seattle.

Buckle Up. MOM went a little something like this. read more

Hold that thought. Guest Blog Post (Worcester)

I’m a very social person. My wife would say it’s pathological. This will put it in context: I used to teach karate but haven’t practiced in probably 20 years. The other day a FB notification popped up that a club I used to train with occasionally was having a summer barbeque. Not that it’s entirely clear why I’m still following the group on FB, but my very first instinct was to check my calendar to see if I could make it. Three seconds later I came to my senses – was I really going to drive from Boston to NYC for a barbeque? And in any case, everyone I knew would be long gone and I have literally zero connection to them anymore. But the fact is, I did consider it for a second, as unrealistic as it would have been. I’m in touch with friends from my fraternity, my high school and my elementary school – that I left in 1971.

Guest Blog by Krysta (Worcester)

My alarm is going off and it’s 4:30am on Sunday morning. Am I dreaming? Or maybe having a nightmare would be a more accurate statement?! After a few hits of the snooze button, I’m quickly reminded I actually chose this wakeup call when I decided to sign up for the Portland 10-miler a few months back, which is conveniently located just over two hours away from home. As I’m dragging myself out of bed and putting on the clothes I’ve already laid out (thanking myself for thinking ahead the night before), I get a text asking if I’d like hot or iced coffee. I’ve got the best friends. read more
