Back in early March, which feels like yesterday and three years ago all at the same time, you could find most people making jokes about the threat of Covid. Jim and I were entertaining the idea of a “Corona inspired playlist and workout”. I can’t take full credit, one of our regulars suggested it, but we were totally on board. It wasn’t real, and it certainly wasn’t going to impact our lives. It would blow over like everything else. Right?
Better Together, Even if Apart (NP Woo)
Every week since March, when our workouts went from in person to Zoom, I have likely spent more time than I’d like to admit analyzing who came, who didn’t, and coming up with theories for why people did or did not show up. WHAT WERE WE DOING WRONG? WHY AREN’T PEOPLE EXCITED? Oh right, because there is a pandemic happening and we are doing mountain climbers while trying not to wake up the kids.
For When We Meet Again…
We are getting close to returning to IN PERSON workouts. The location will be at City Hall (where we meet all winter). We have some GREAT IDEAS. We know you are excited, we are too- but please keep reading, and when you finish, read it again. This is SO important.

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt. (Worcester)
I feel like at one time or another, we have all heard this quote. More than likely when we have heard it, we rolled our eyes. Hard.
When I was in high school I had a friend who was battling an eating disorder. Seventeen year old peanut didn’t know shit about fuck (I credit Ruth from Ozark for that amazing saying) at that age. Before long, my friends problem became mine. I dove in head first. And I was surely in denial about the whole thing. I had teachers in high school and then professors in college say the denial statement to me. What did they know?
ZOOM In to a workout with us! (Worcester)
During this time when we are unable to meet in person, we are so lucky to have ZOOM to continue our free workouts. It’s so important right now to do a lot of things, but taking care of your health is huge. Keep moving, if you don’t want to join in on zoom, the workouts will be posted for everyone, each week. Take care of yourselves always.
#NP_Continues (Worcester)
We are in some weird times right now, aren’t we? Remember last week we were mad because we couldn’t go to the stadium, now we can’t go anywhere LOL. But…the beauty of November Project (here in Worcester, and every single other city) is that we thrive on being weird and we thrive on spontaneity. This is our time to shine, just like those napkins that you’ve been hoarding in your glove box!
Going with the flow. (Worcester)
*Information provided subject to change*
Previously, we’ve both mentioned on socials, email, and in person that on 4/1 we will make our big return to the stadium. Please note that as of today, March 11, 2020 Holy Cross has closed down their campus for the remainder of the semester as a safety precaution of COVID-19. Included in the campus closing are all gatherings and events on campus, which of course means November Project Worcester.
This isn't a joke :) (Worcester)
You have all been asking, and we are here to tell you. Our big return to Fitton Field (Holy Cross Football Stadium) will be Wednesday, April 1st. We will also be tagging shirts that day! GOOD NEWS OVERLOAD?!
Here are some important things to know:
- Times will remain the same. 5:20 am, 6:20 am.
- Some of you don’t know this, but- We are under a contract with Holy Cross. They have put in place some guidelines, and it’s very important we all follow them so we do not lose our access. The most important ones are outlined here.
- No parking in the garage. There are plenty of spots on the surrounding streets with a very short run or walk to the stadium. This IS a fitness group. If you need any special arrangements (stroller, wheelchair, etc) please reach out to your co-leaders and we can work something out.
- Dogs are not permitted in the stadium. We love all of our 4 legged furballs, and we hope you will bring them to our monthly pop ups so we can still see them regularly.
- Children are welcome and encouraged to come to our workouts. Per contract, they are not allowed on the stairs. We have workarounds for this so you can bring them and still get your workout in. Whether we agree with this one or not, we have to follow it, so please don’t put us in a weird position.
In addition to the stadium, we will have a handful of alternate workouts (similar to what we have been doing this winter) that we will rotate in each week. In the event you are injured and cannot do the stairs, you will have other options- So still show up!
What a year. (Worcester)
It’s really common to say “2019 was amazing” or, “2019 was the worst”. When it get’s down to it, it’s really hard to sum up 365 days with ONE emotion. Even though 2019 started as an absolute nightmare for me personally, I can’t write the whole year off as garbage. There were so many great things about 2019, and a lot of those things had to do with November Project. So… that said…
Tis the season to be jolly (Worcester)
First a little story, then some updates for you.
I find myself often engaged in conversations about November Project. These conversations happened before my role in leadership and they are continuing now. What is it? Why do you do that? That’s like a second job! Do you get paid? You go out there EVERY week? What if it’s cold or rainy? You don’t do this in the winter, right? Oh, you just run stairs?
