Fucking BOOM! Couldn’t have asked for a more accurate description of our logo. Love seeing all of you running around with your N’s and P’s on your shirts. I’m jealous of whichever one of you got the N and the P on the back of your shirt! read more

Gotta Catch ‘Em…All? (BAL)

When your interactions with society become this:

This:

Then you know it’s time to make a Pokemon Go NP workout.

Nick, Syd, and I knew that our time was limited with converting this craze into a workout. After all, with the short attention spans of our generation, Pokemon Go will be an afterthought by this time next week. This was our chance to capitalize! We considered just giving you all the space and time to download the app and play it at Rash Field for 40 minutes. But after MUCH deliberation – seriously, it was probably the longest email chain we’ve ever had trying to create a workout – we delivered today’s workout. We gotta say, we think it went better than we ever could have expected. read more

#BAL1, Books, and Breakfast Burritos (BAL)

Another month, another #BAL1 in the books!

While Nick was busy prancing around striking poses for his Lululemon photo shoot, you all put your heads down and went to work. #BAL1 is proving to be a beast of a workout, yet none of you are afraid to hop in the ring and work your tails off to tame her.

BAHHHSTON RECAP (BAL)

First off: HOLY SMOKES THIS BLOG IS LATE. How was the Boston Marathon already two-plus weeks ago? I had a whole blog written about a week ago, and then Harkins sent me her thoughts on her experience (see below) and I thought shit, I need to step up my game. So I scrapped that, and hopefully these words are a little better. Besides, that blog was way too much about me. My training, my collapse at the finish, blah blah blah. BORING. The Boston Marathon was not about me, just like NP isn’t about any one individual (except maybe Brogan and Bojan who are frolicking around the country singlehandedly helping morning news anchors drop multiple pants sizes). So that’s the message I want to convey to you here. read more

We Missed You, Nick George! (BAL)

Is this Christmas? It has to be. I haven’t been this excited for something since I passed my last neuroscience exam. I also can’t believe how neatly this opportunity was presented to me. Seriously, the most beautiful silver platter ever.

Nicholas George is a dear friend of mine from medical school. We met last year as we were both going through the medical school application process, and when I found out he was going to the University of Maryland I was pretty pumped. I knew his girlfriend from Back on My Feet, and knew he was a cool guy and a big runner. He went to Loyola Maryland, graduated as valedictorian, and even spent six years as an EMT. Who wouldn’t like this guy? read more

We Missed You, Nick Paul! (BAL)

Nick Paul – the man, the myth, the GIF legend began his week in the usual manner, slathered in neoprene and dropping verbals left and right.

NP1

This wasn’t any old verbal though, it also held the opportunity to receive a FREE gift certificate for a cute, new TRI outfit. Unfortunately, when Wednesday morning rolled around and there was no NP* (*Nick Paul, OF COURSE, there was November Project because that NP always shows up), the tribe was left scrambling for answers. read more

Slow-motion good mornings (BAL)

Holy smokes! Do you know the last time I did a blog post? I think Lincoln was President and had just pointed the cannons on Federal Hill at downtown Baltimore to save the Union. It feels good to be back and dust off the social media skills that I placed on the top shelf in that creepy closet in the back corner of the basement. read more

Nothing changes. Until everything does (BAL)

The funny thing about change is that on a day-to-day basis you don’t really notice it. For example, our beloved Nick Rod went from this:

to this:

Wait, he looks the same. Ok maybe that wasn’t the best comparison. Let’s rewind. Here’s a better one. Let’s take today’s Positivity Award winner, Kevin Grunkemeyer (who, by the way, turns 40 today. That was a total coincidence). Kevin dropped 40 pounds over the last few months. 40! That’s like the weight of three Chipotle burritos. The dude looks incredible, and I can only imagine how he feels. read more

While you were in the photobooth… (BAL)

Holy smokes! Did that morning really just happen? O-N-E  H-U-N-D-R-E-D  A-N-D  F-I-F-T-Y  of you decided to show up and look your best for our semi-annual #YEARBOOKPHOTOS. I didn’t even think I knew 150 people in my life. I just appreciate the fact that I can write 150 rather than having to type the words out —  THAT’S how many of you joined us this morning. Thanks grammar! read more
