The Moment When..

… you see a cop car driving towards your car that is illegally parked.  Fortunately, they were just making sure no foxes, coyotes or raccoons attacked us. Real Talk. Animal attacks scare me. This is my nightmare.

We’re still enjoying this tropical weather, (or what the rest of you call winter). Not that I’m complaining, but it’s really messing up my routine. I lay out my clothes the night before, then check the weather in the morning, and decide what layers to wear. Lately, I get really confused, and focus more on putting everything on properly because I forgot how to dress for this. Life was easier when someone else dressed me.  read more

Wind and Ice Make the Temperatures Nice

So, the official temperatures are in, and we were tied for the second warmest tribe this morning. And that’s counting all 10 tribes! It’s like we’re practically living in California (I am choosing to ignore the wind factor in this temperature game). Speaking of the wind, who pissed off mother nature? I guess you can’t have it all. read more

The Bridge is NOT Shaking!?!?

The second bridge workout of the month took us to the LRT footbridge in Edmonton’s beautiful River Valley. Some may know this as the blue bridge that is near our Wednesday home at the Royal Glenora Stairs.

Last week, someone commented that when the bridge shakes, it’s a good thing and that we should be concerned when it doesn’t shake. Well, this bridge didn’t shake. Even with multiple light rail transit vehicles above us, I only heard rumblings, but did not feel any shaking. Good thing I didn’t have time to be concerned. Since we’re all getting stronger, we figured you could all handle this bridge which was twice as long as the last one, but probably half as wide.  If you do the math, it basically makes you wonder how two LRT trains can go side by side on this thing. read more

A Hot and Steamy Morning

Someone left us a message in the snow. This anonymous messenger has found a subtle yet effective and polite way of saying good morning to us. I sense great things in the future for this messenger, whose identity shall forever remain a mystery.

You know when you wake up, and you’re with someone you care about, and your heart starts racing, and then it gets steamy? That’s pretty much what happened this morning. If you were there, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you weren’t, well I’m sorry to say that you may or may not know what I’m talking about. I dont think I know what I’m talking about anymore. read more

No One Was Feeling Blue

Seriously, no one got to feel Blue in one of the giant bear hugs we had to do this morning. We’re not sure why, but she just didn’t show. It’s ok Blue, Friday is less than 48 hours away. You can show up then. We did have 4 newbies show up today.

Is it also a coincidence that the Oilers played the Blues last nite? hmmmm read more

The Bridge is Shaking!?!?

We survived the first Monday workout of 2014. You also survived the first edition of Bridge Month! Seriously, did anyone else feel the bridge bouncing as we sprinted across it? I’m just glad we all got out alive. We thought about postponing bridge month, because if a bridge does collapse, we would fall onto ice, and that would hurt.  I’m just kidding, we didn’t really think about postponing it. read more

Cold Weather, Warm Hearts

The Weather Network heard that we are weatherproof and show up regardless of how cold it is and sent over a reporter and a camera to see how awesome we are. Apart from the hidden ice underneath the fresh snowfall, it was a great morning.

Today, we were given extremely thoughtful gifts from the tribe. We were stunned when we opened them and thank each and every one of you. Make no mistake though, the tribe is nothing without each and every one of you. I’d name you all, but there are so many that it’d probably take up an entire tshirt to go over them. We might be the ones who start it all, but it is YOU that make the tribe what it is. Never forget that. Onward! read more

A Rollercoaster Morning

Christmas came early for everyone who showed up today. World takeover needs warm ears, necks and hands and our tribe members over at Lululemon on Whyte has equipped us with everything we need! The wind didn’t stop us, and neither did the sheet of ice waiting for us at the top. The run to the statue turned into a waddle so that everyone stayed upright. With the sudden change in conditions, it felt like a rollercoaster ride. Thankfully, no one lost their breakfast on the stairs.. or did they… read more

A Tribal Invasion

What happens when you bring 14 Americans to the land of the frozen maple leaf? We found out.

The tribe at the Pint Downtown where we magically appeared on the TV during the Oiler game and had the opportunity to meet the leaders from all of the NP cities. Drinks were plentiful, cheers were loud, stories were shared, snow was falling and the tribe was united. read more

Earn Your Lights!

Yes, we went back to the Leg grounds AGAIN! Is it because we were too busy to think of a new location? Is it because it’s really close to where I live? Or is it because I really wanted to see the trees all lit up. If you said Yes to 0, 1 2 or 3 of those questions, you may or may not be correct. read more
