Recently, the Television visited Boston to tell the story of 10 cities of November Project or #Power10 as we call it. Despite our best efforts to include our friends from all the tribes the piece ended up being another BG/Bojan hype. So the #Power10 decided to combine their efforts and spend millions of dollars of production budget to produce this masterful edition of Universal Television Industries – UTI Breaking News!
Breaking News: Nobody Died at NPSF Today
NPSF has had an influx of newbies the last 4 weeks, with numbers higher than we have ever had before, numbers higher than Laura can actually count. But the real test of consistency will come next week…the week AFTER PR Wednesday. There was sweat. There were tears. There were sweaty men crying in the corner, therefore owning both categories. But you all survived, and that’s important, because Laura doesn’t ever want a lawsuit. She will just run away. FRIDAY HILLS: Aquatic Park, in the Marina, 6:23 AM.
Hey, quick question for ya’
Is that my alarm? Is it time to wake up? Could I pull off a 15 minutes snooze? Should I wear the short shorts or the shorter shorts? Do I have time for a beer? Did I remember my keys? Should I take Pacific or Clay? Can I really hear Sam Livermore from the Financial District? Am I pulling off this hat? Did McCloskey say Gough and Sacramento or Gough and Washington? Is this hill ever going to end? Is there a man sleeping in that pile of trash? Is that the Tribe? Are the numbers down? Where is everyone? Is it Friday? Is it 6:30 am? Did we choose a bad location? Was the tribe still sore from Huffman’s? Did people finally get sick of looking at my white upper man thigh? Is it possible that people don’t actually like getting up at 6:30am to run hills? Where is Laura? Am I going to have to lead this workout alone? Have I seen that girl on Tinder? Is it time to start the workout? Have I been practicing my leadership voice enough? Should I lead everyone up the stairs? Would Kenny Wong and Josh Zipin ever want to, you know, like, hang out, maybe grab a beer sometime? Should I lead the tribe to the center of the park? Do I hear voices? IS THAT F*&$ING FITMOB? Wait, do I know those people? Is THAT where the rest of the tribe was? Do I hear WHAM!? Is that Laura? Are there more than 60 of us now? Is Bill Wheeler wearing shorter shorts than me? Are we going to piss off that boxing club? Does Andy Cochrane ever get tired? How many laps is that? Did I start my watch? Should I yell FIRE DRILL? Did anyone hear me just yell fire drill? Has it been 25 minutes yet? Should we start the finisher tunnel? Should I run through the finisher tunnel? Is it weird if I ask Bill where he got his shorts? Should we take a picture now? Will the newbies come back to us? Do I really have to go to work now? Is November Project the best part of my day? Yes.
That time Clayton & McCloskey got lost running home, high on fumes
Has anyone seen Dan Clayton? Last we know he was running towards Ocean Beach, November Project backpack bouncing up and down, singing along to Shania Twain’s “I feel like a woman” and giggling uncontrollably. All of this may sound relatively normal, except Clayton lives in North Beach. We hope you make it home alright, Dan.
Dance Off, Pants Off in SF
As we all collected in Dolores Park this morning, an interesting observation was made. We were not alone. Just about every other boot camp in the city was setting up their selected station of the park for their morning workout. Seeing as though Clayton and Laura never quite know what is going on, or what the rules of the park are, we decided to instead just wake up all the sleeping neighbors and bust out some vicious hill repeats. Clayton sported his new Go Pro with no SD card in it so we got…nothing. No footage at all. See? We never know what’s going on. After the workout we gathered at the top of the park for a dance off pants off party where everyone got naked then ran through the park where all the boot camps were finishing their workout, ending with a nice brunch in the Mission. Only part of that is true, we didn’t actually go to brunch.
The (Non Polar) VORTEX
(Photo courtesy of Amy Leedham’s Garmin)
The #VORTEX workout is one part fitness, one part ‘never have I ever,’ and two parts musical chairs. Tribe-members run a tiny (.05mi) circle around a patch of grass in the center of Alamo Square while Clayton yells out categories. If this is a category you belong to, you report to the middle of the circle for 20 reps of a particular exercise. Consequently, we learned a lot about our tribe members today. A STARTLING amount of you believe in magic, all the girls that we’ve been hitting on are apparently already married, and there’s a handful of guys that hate sit-ups more than they want to have sex with Kate Upton. Toss in over 30 newbies, 3 visiting tribe-members, and a speedy Irishman who’s afraid of revolving doors, and you’ve got a hell of a #VORTEX going.
Thanks all for coming out! We’ll see you THIS FRIDAY for hills.
6:24AM – Mission Dolores Park, Corner of CHURCH and 18th. #EARNYOURWEEKEND
Make-out Point
Somewhere just beyond the crest of North China Hill, there’s a magical little place where Rebecca Daniels takes unsuspecting – erm – “gentleman acquaintances” for hour long sunset make-out sessions. She thought she was the only one who knew about it… she was wrong. At 6:30am sharp, NPSF set out due west from Vallejo and Powell St. for a hill / stair session that produced just as much sweat, heavy breathing, and tears as making out with Rebecca Daniels. Wow, three sentences Clayton? That’s how long it takes you to get extremely inappropriate? Come on…
People Still Lost in Woods After Chaos Lap
San Francisco has finally passed the 100 mark! It has been a long road, from the early days at Kezar Stadium, to the angry neighbors at…well…almost everywhere we go. But we have finally collected 100 twisted souls to meet us for a morning workout that will surely make you go home and question your own sanity.
Ho Ho Ho!! Merrrrrry Christmas! Guest blog post by Marisa Levine
Today in SF Ted Gurman, Co-leader of the MSN tribe, led NPSF through their paces. They ran, they jumped, they awkwardly laughed at Ted’s not-so-funny jokes. Big thanks for TG coming through so the SF tribe didn’t miss a beat. For today’s blog post, we asked Marisa Levine to write about her intro to NP and how it has changed (or ruined?) her Wednesday/Friday mornings. We hoped for the former, but promised not to edit if she chose the latter. Marisa is another Northeastern University graduate (Go Huskies!) and has been one of our leading recruiters with her genuine enthusiasm, that she lightly mixes with a twist of sarcasm. Something all NP leaders appreciate. Take it away Marisa! And a MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
TG, I mean BG, I mean TG comes to NPSF
For the next two weeks we will be graced with the presence of NP Madison’s leader, Ted Gurman. Ted has many personalities, depending on the day you may get Brogan Graham or Teddy Testosterone. That’s up to Ted to decide. Next Wednesday, Christmas day, Ted will be leading the NPSF workout at Alamo Square. Be there or be square! I can’t believe it’s taken me 8 months to use that line.
