The 5 things

What a mild morning we had today! And a pretty clear sky. We’re definitely squeezing all we can out of Summer!

Oh Friday, I offered us all the chance to notice/find 5 things that bring a smile to our faces. I can’t wait to hear yours. Here are mine:

  • I walked out of Commonwealth Rec Centre on Saturday morning (working on my deadlifts!) and I was greeted with a blue sky, a very nice temperature, and still air. That literally stopped me in my tracks.
  • I had the chance to meet up for a mini reunion with some of my buds from business school. I moved to Edmonton and started my MBA 17 years ago (next week!). It was awesome to catch up with forever friends. One of those classmates is my forever person in life – my hubby, Casey!
  • I laced up for the first run post- half marathon (last week). It felt great. It felt pretty steady, hard, and joy-filled 14k.
  • I had dinner with some friends who have had a very important year in their lives. We got to chat about it, celebrate them, and have a good catch up!
  • The last one was this morning actually, on my way home from NP. Did anyone see that giant, orangey-pink sun? It was magnificent.

The bugs!!!

Gooood morning NP Canada!

I hope you had a great weekend. I sure did. A hot Summer weekend? What could be better?!

What has been popping up a lot lately are the mosquitos. Holy smokes. Looks like we need some bug spray for the next bit.

Total change in topic….

I know that sometimes, some of us show up not feeling our best whether that be because of a bad sleep, a big family/ life event, a poor mental health day, work distractions, or whatever else is going on. read more

The return of the birthday crowdsurf

It’s been years since we’ve done a good ol’ birthday crowdsurf so, when our faraway NPCanada buds, the Jespersens, asked if this was still a possibility, Rob and I were like “heck yeah it is.”

Yay for the doublé birthday surf!

Part 1: #thebig10

Hieee.

Solid morning y’all!

A bit unsteady

I’ve been a bit off lately. And I haven’t talked about it too much (I don’t think).

A couple of months ago, someone tried to break into our home. It was a Tuesday night at about 10:40pm. Of course, I was already fast asleep. It was a NP night!

It was my husband who was still awake and almost encountered a bad person trying to invade our home. read more

Their alarm clock

“Tiiiiiiime.”

It’s much easier now. I’ve found that parent/teacher voice that I’ve never had.

On the hill, I usually avoid screaming at the top. One, there are so many cars; it generally drowns me out. And two, I’m always aware that people are up in those condo buildings sleeping. read more

The week after… the years after

Does anybody else have a hangover from last week’s 10th birthday?

Just me then?

hahaha

I wanted to share something.

That we have legacy co-leaders who are still present and proud of what they created is pretty special. That Rob and I feel we can reach out to them if we have questions or come up to a barrier we haven’t encountered yet (and there have been a few), I think THAT’S not common. And, it speaks volumes about leaders who have come before me. read more

My alarm!

Oh wow friends. We’ve hit our 10th birthday. We’re celebrating all week long!

I can’t wait to see you throughout this week (and every other week…. hahaha).

Since we’ve had a hot, summery weekend, we felt it necessary to have a do-over of last week’s holiday Monday plan. We were supposed to host a waterslide but 10 degrees and windy didn’t really scream Summer lovin weather…. so, take two. To kick off birthday week! read more

Foiled plans!

What a balmy July long weekend we’ve had…. #eeeeek

hahaha

A short while ago, Rob and I were like “let’s get the waterslide going for the July long weekend!”

Even as late as yesterday afternoon, we were like “should we?” No. Yes. No. Yes. No!

Sad for us.

Fun was had even without getting soaked! read more
