Guest Blog- Erin Owenby, NPSF/DC/SF

Like the rest of the DC tribe, Erin moved out to San Francisco in the search of coastal trails, happy people, and a stellar coffee scene. Since the very first day she has worked her ass off at workouts and also jumped head first into everything California has to offer. Today, she tells us a little more about why she made the move and how simply running up and down all the hills of San Francisco will make your BQ dreams come true.  read more

The Beast Bay Is Coming (SF)

Throughout our lives we have all run straight into walls. Some higher than others, these walls are meant to slow us down, block us from accomplishing goals, and derail us from our mission. But, due to perseverance and a ‘take no prisoners’ attitude, we somehow climb our way over those walls. And we keep on climbing. read more

Battle Of The Bounces (SF)

This morning 3 teams battled in 5 categories: Stairs, beach sprints, push ups, jump squats and burpees. Simply put, the team who won 3>5 categories, wins the workout. In the end, Team 3 (Team Nate) pulled out the win and the analytical, coding world of NPSF demanded proof. Here are the numbers spelled out: read more

“Who Made This Workout..Satan?” And Other Great Compliments (SF)

I don’t know about you, but I can always count on Nikhil.

Sure he’s a dependable dude. He’s a man of his word, consistent in workout attendance, and always gives 100% every week. But I can also always count on him to find me in the middle of hard workouts to tell me how miserable they are. And for people who don’t know me very well, this MAKES MY DAY. The biggest NP fail (to me) would be if someone walked away from one of our workouts and said to their friend “it was fun, but it just wasn’t very hard.” Sure we try our best to make them scalable for all fitness levels, but that also means we want to them to be difficult for ALL fitness levels, including the uber fast, freakishly strong Ben Dickens of the world. read more

Why You Need To Come To Friday Hills In July (SF)

So here’s the deal. We want to race more. And not just PR-day-when-no-one-shows-up type of race. We want to throw down weekly with people cheering one another on and digging deep into sand trails to get that last half point for their team. Which is exactly what happened this morning…and it was incredible. read more

I’m Proud Of You (SF)

This week’s guest blog is co-written by Lindsay Bolt and Akinjide Famoyegun, our leaders from both Friday’s hill workout and Sunday’s PRIDE Parade. Lindsay and Jide have been long time members of the NPSF tribe and we couldn’t have had more fun this weekend marching (and dancing) beside them. Thank you both for all your hard work and putting so much time into making this a memorable weekend for so many!  read more

Ben Of Many Tribes (Guest Blog)

Ben is a guy. Ben is a good guy. Ben is a good guy who lives in Brooklyn. Ben is a good guy who lives in Brooklyn and San Francisco. Ben is a good guy, maybe even a great guy, who lives in Brooklyn, lives in San Francisco, and hails from the November Project San Diego tribe. Ben is a good guy, who lives in Brooklyn, San Francisco, sometimes San Diego, and is all about representing November Project wherever he is (his job takes him around the world). Ben has a story and an outlook on all of NP that I hope you take time to read. Without another word, I give you Ben.  read more

Set Alarms…NOW (SF)

Today we did a hard workout, full of really intense exercises…

It required a really high skill level and extreme level of fitness to complete…

The rating for expertise level was “EXTREME”…

No, No, I swear it was hard! Was it hard? Or did we all just quietly nap? Eh, whatever. read more

The World Championship of Hobby Horse (SF)

For those who were completely confused by our “burn out” today, please watch this: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5lnh79

Now, we all did a really hard workout today, and that’s all good and grand. But I think I speak for the entire tribe when I say that the burn out Hobby Horse World Championship on the Alta Plaza Playground was the highlight of the day. It was so good that I ended up only getting photos of that portion of the workout. Whoops. Here is what went down: read more
