Guest Blog: Love, Joel (LAX)

Today’s blog comes from Joel Callen, our social guru, the only individual I know who can navigate the local public transportation, and one of the most bubbly individuals I know out here. He also is a huge fan of Love, Simon. If you didn’t know that, now you know.

Guest Blog: Positive Vibes (LAX)

Another week and another awesome blog from the group. Today we’re sharing a bit from Carla, one of our 5:30 folks who has been coming regularly since August 2017. Carla, take it away!

I was really trying to come up with a clever way to start this blog. But each time I typed something, it sounded more and more corny. So, like I’ve been doing almost every Wednesday at 5:30a since Aug 2017, I told myself to JUST SHOW UP; nothing fancy required. read more

Guest Blog: A Selfish LAX Love Letter

Today we said so long, farewell, come back soon to James who now has me crying and laughing simultaneously at this blog. James, take it away.

JAMES WILLS

Warmth. Sillyness. Occasional exercise. NPLAX.

If you haven’t met me, I’m the British one that spends too much time with the dogs, enjoys giving Kaitlin irritating sweaty hugs and usually has smokin’ hot glasses. read more

Guest Blog (LAX): Finding your team as an Adult

This week we’ve got a great blog lined up from John Asante! Haven’t had a chance to talk to him at a workout? Well, say hi next time! In fact, at every workout, try to say hi to someone you haven’t seen before or talked to before.

Alright, here’s John to share with us John’s story. read more

Guest Blog: Oh the Written Word (LAX)

The written word is truly a powerful thing. I still believe that print media lives in some manner and thanks to our November Project blog in the little corner of the world wide web, our written word remains. Today and hopefully in the weeks to come, we’re going to be sharing some stories from folks – from them and about them. No prompt was provided, which makes this even better. I don’t know about y’all but I love talking to people at workouts, outside of workouts, and I also love learning more about personalities and what makes us unique. Join in, follow along, drop a line, and #justshowup. read more

What day is it? PR DAY! You betcha, the last Wednesday of the month and it was a smashing success for round 2 of PR day 3.0. Did you track your time? Enter it HERE . We have another PR day in just 4 short weeks and you can find us THIS Friday at Cheviot Hills Park for a free workout at 6am to kickoff your weekend. read more

YOU Get a PR (LAX)

A new year and a new PR course. Last year we took a chance and changed things up a bit. Some liked it and some didn’t. But it was change and it was good. Now that we are in 2019, there’s room for improvement and that came in the form of a lovely loop around the Observatory and up one of our most favorite hills to Turnaround Rock where we could see the sunrise and then tear back down, throw out bunches of high fives and then repeat two more times. I don’t know about you but that was tough and yet also felt good. read more

A Brand New Year (LAX)

Another Friday in the books and 2019 is off to a great start. This morning’s hill was quite a killer and while the photographic evidence was lacking (a lens upgrade and some lessons might be in my future), the post burnout sweat marks told a good story.

It’s a new year and with a new year comes new goals. Last year Jesse and I talked about fitness goals, keeping accountabilibuddies and we encouraged you to do the same. At the end of last year, we encouraged people to reflect on 2018 and how the year went, remembering that it’s about progress, not perfection. read more

On the 5th day of Hanukkah (LAX)

Today we had three fabulous guest leaders and boy did they rock it out of Barnsdall Art Park.  Together Rachel, Rachel, and Matt led a Hanukkah themed workout and with dreidels galore and laps around the local park, it was quite the way to start the day.  I’ll let Rachel Goldstein share her thoughts on the morning but as always we’re so happy you decided to show up and run around with us and maybe even try something new.   read more

Sunny Days in LA + Meet Your Tribe (Lynette Yung)

Sunny days may or may not be here to stay as we have some rain on the horizon but GUESS WHAT LA?!? That means we get to show the world that we are #weatherproof.   Yes, we still show up if it’s drizzling, raining, snowing (you better show up if it’s snowing in LA…that would be wacky global warming). No, we may not dip into the negative temps like Canada does – we get it Canada, you are #weatherproof – but we are still cool.  read more
