Sunny Days in LA + Meet Your Tribe (Lynette Yung)

Sunny days may or may not be here to stay as we have some rain on the horizon but GUESS WHAT LA?!? That means we get to show the world that we are #weatherproof.   Yes, we still show up if it’s drizzling, raining, snowing (you better show up if it’s snowing in LA…that would be wacky global warming). No, we may not dip into the negative temps like Canada does – we get it Canada, you are #weatherproof – but we are still cool.

For now, we rock the hills of PR day, celebrate the last week of November (cough cough Hillvember) and get pumped for December.  There are at least 2 (yes TWO) festive themed workout and a few surprises thrown into the mix.  So. Get. Excited.

On this week’s blog post, we are sharing the spotlight with the speedster Lynette Yung.  You may know her by her cool running backpack or her ever present smile.  I’ll let her share some facts and answers to our amazing questions below and next time you see her at a workout say hi!  Even better, say hi to Lynette and someone you don’t know at next workout and even spice it up a bit and throw in a high five.

  • First workout – After highschool, my first workout was in January 2016 – ever since then I have been more consistent
  • Angeleno or transplant – transplant –> Toronto, Canada, eh
  • Favorite workout – I really enjoy hills
  • Why do you keep showing up? – I really enjoy exploring LA (when it is feasible), the workouts, supporting others and being supported. The tribe is inviting and personable.
  • Superpower – I wish my superpower is to be well rested
  • Spirit animal – My spirit animal is an ant because ants are strong, organized, has patience, determined and eats everything
  • Occupation – Software Engineer
  • Any nicknames – Loonie, Lyn
  • Favorite season – Winter. Especially when it snows, possiblities are endless, snowboarding, making an igloo, ice skating, cross country skiing, hot coco, warming up by the fireplace, etc.
  • Ice cream flavor that represents your personality – chocolate malted krunch, sometimes smooth, sometimes there are hard bits
  • Proudest moment – Seeing my supportive family during a race because they are proud of me and they are excited to show off my finishers medal to others (YOU ROCK LYNETTE!)
