YOU Get a PR (LAX)

A new year and a new PR course. Last year we took a chance and changed things up a bit. Some liked it and some didn’t. But it was change and it was good. Now that we are in 2019, there’s room for improvement and that came in the form of a lovely loop around the Observatory and up one of our most favorite hills to Turnaround Rock where we could see the sunrise and then tear back down, throw out bunches of high fives and then repeat two more times. I don’t know about you but that was tough and yet also felt good.

While we are encountering our own form of winter (sorry folks who are dealing with -45 degrees…we only hit about 52 degrees or so) the tribe came out strong and the energy was amazing. Yes, everyone was a winner this morning since it was the first time we debuted the course so round of applause. But really, this is a good benchmark and now every subsequent PR day you can take a look back and see what progress you have made. Maybe there’s a turn you can make that cuts off a few seconds or push a little harder on that last downhill. Maybe you run with someone who hasn’t run it before and you help push them (or vice versa) to a new time.

Anyway you look at it, remember that you woke up early and showed up and got a great workout in together. If you clocked your time and wrote it on the paper laying around, check here. We’ll be marking these down each month and you can track your progress. If you had trouble hearing what your time was, maybe bring a watch next time to cross-check. Again, apologies if people had their times mixed up. I tried my best to shout out the numbers but sometimes I mix things up.

Annnnnnouncements – Yes, Jesse and I could really talk about random things for days, but we do have some important things to share and try (**try**) to not keep you so long after the workout

1/30 (TONIGHT) – PR DAY SOCIAL: Folks will be meeting up at Public House (1739 North Vermont, Los Angeles, CA 90027) starting around 6:30. We’ve got some fun stamped recruiting papers that we can hand out and #recruiteveryone

2/1 (FRIDAY) – California Incline at 6am (Tracker HERE) **Locations for the next month or so have been updated as well!

2/9 – GSA x SATURDAY STAIRS x NP POP UP. Invite your friends, family, people of all ages. Please no dogs that day.

2/17 – FIRECRACKER 5K/10K. Code for 10% off is NPLAX10. It’s an amazing event and will be fun to have everyone race and cheer together!

3/24 – LA MARATHON WATER STATION. Facebook Event with information HERE. For more questions, reach out to Molly Pearlman or Rachel Goldstein.

Fun Fact: If you ever think that it’s cold in Los Angeles, our friends in the midwest are dealing with temperatures that are colder than parts of the Arctic, Yukin and Mars. Very far out.
