I first met Kendary in 2005, he is a subject matter expert for SBM in our region by then. To me, he is a quiet person but very knowledgeable in his profession. He is also my personal investment fund and retirement scheme adviser. I invited him to our NP_Pledge workout at the beginning of February 2017, since then he has become the warrior for Wednesday morning hills.

“I am not an early person, but I will give it a try since the workout is near my place”. YES, he is living nearby our workout spot, around 10-15 mins walking distance. He was impressed that there are people that will wake their ass up and workout at 5:15am. He was amazed when we told him that the workout is free, you only have to #justshowup. From there, we started to share with him the idea of November Project Pledge and how we want to build the free workout tribe in our very own city.
Personally I am bit worried if he will show up again after his first workout with us, but with the highly motivated, energized tribe plus fun workout designed by our co-leaders, I got this #VERBAL right after his first workout. “I love it! Although I barely know most of them but everyone is cheering and pushing each other to just keep going. I will definitely come back again”.
This is the Story of Kendary about November Project Malaysia

“I thought it was crazy to wake up before dawn at 4.30 a.m. to run at the hill and perform other pain inducing exercises when I was invited to join November Project. I had my doubts if it was doable in the beginning. Nevertheless, I gave it a try, knowing I do martial arts and plenty of hiking and mountain climbing for years. It certainly was not my cup of tea to wake up at 4.30 a.m. and then went running at the hill and participating in to me most grueling exercises such as push-ups, burpees and other equally difficult items (still don’t know what we call a lot of them). I felt aching and tiredness after the first few sessions. To my surprise, I felt better and better after I kept going. It has been a few months now and I no longer feel sleepy and terrible aching as I used to on Wednesdays. On the contrary, I feel more energetic and alert throughout the day. Clear thinking is also another gain for me.
So, you might ask why I didn’t stop going after a rather unpleasant experience when I started going to the hill exercise sessions at the initial stage. I would say it was the friendly and supportive environment. It was the people. These elements are key when it comes to learning and taking up any new pursuit.
My experience in the November Project Hill Morning Workout has been a story worth sharing. We benefited, both physically and mentally regardless how old we are. I must say everybody seems much younger than me. We can adapt and raise our fitness level. I don’t compare myself with other super fit people. To me, this activity should be self-paced and I ought to just compete against myself. As a matter of fact, I now look forward to this Wednesday early morning Hill Exercise. It complements my other recreational and fitness pursuits i.e. martial arts, long hikes and mountain climbing quite nicely.”
