A Little Closer!

November Project San Diego

We get together twice a week, but there’s always something about PR day that brings us just a little bit closer. That grind, that sweat – it’s hard, and there’s a solidarity to completing it.

So show up next week. Come back with that work horse mindset. You don’t want to miss it. read more

Making Your Mark

This morning was special. First and foremost, Megan, Ian, and I wanted to say thank you! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to guest lead for a day and create this wonderful mark on our lives. November Project is such a strong community full of bright amazing individuals each with a unique contribution that makes it what it is. Every member adds to the community and leaves an impact. You add a smile. You add a high five. You add motivation and energy. Each of us has a mark to make of our own unique composition that adds up to something truly special. read more

Just keep smiling.

November Project San Diego

Today in honor of May, we hosted a boyband themed workout. We made jokes about Lou Pearlman’s revenge, talked about the highs and lows of being in a boyband (or girlband, or coedband, or gender-fluid band). And as dialed in as we planned it, much like boyband careers and interband relationships, we came across some unexpected roadblocks and unforeseen circumstances… read more

No(vemberproject)chella

November Project San Diego

You know, sandwiched between Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 of Coachella, you can’t help but plan your own little mini fitness festival.

Coming back from Coachella, I kept thinking about a phrase that kept coming up at our camp – “This isn’t No-chella.” Aside from being a terrible double negative, it’s a good reminder to reflect on what experiences are about and to understand that every experience is different for everyone. read more

Hat Tricks on Tricks on Tricks

November Project San Diego

The Wisconsin Notes podcast has been real cute and inspirational lately (Laura, what?!), so here are some Wisconsin notes of our own:

  • Most of you showed up in fun hats
  • Many of you showed up in normal hats
  • We worked HARD in true hat trick* fashion;
    • 3 fountains
    • 3 gardens with 30 side plank curls, 30 push-ups, and 30 walking lunges WITH HELLA GOOD FORM, respectively
    • 3x [3 burpees + 1 PR hill]
    • Capped* off with 3 minutes of burpees.
The Wednesday morning Navy crew ventured across the fountain to join us (must’ve been the hats) Bear hugs were exchanged if nothing but for generating warmth on a day that might have rivaled what our Canadian friends have been experiencing since November Arlo kept his cool for announcements

I dare you to wear whatever hat you wore this morning out and about this weekend, and see what kind of conversations you strike up. If you do, take a picture, post it on IG, and use #NPSDhattrick. read more

Turn and GO!

November Project San Diego

We had always kinda hid the fact in our hype posts that the last Wednesday was PR day. Everyone knew it in their minds, but we always denied it in some little way because we wanted more people to show up, and we didn’t want to scare new people away.

FUCK. THAT. Embrace it!

PR Day is a reminder of how hard we can push ourselves. And like in life, my friends, it never gets easier; you only become stronger. read more

A Soft Story from Hard Diego

Today’s blog comes from Dawn. You all know her. But what you don’t know is her journey to where she is today.

There’s something about surrounding yourself with positive energy that really shifts your perception of reality – what you value in life, what you’re looking for, and sometimes even who you are. That’s why we hug each other. That’s why we smile at strangers and high-five them. And occasionally we’ll give you their phone numbers and tell you to send them selfies during the day (BTW, send your selfies. And keep them SFW, please). read more

‘NUFF SAID

NPSD

Today’s guest post is by someone who we all know and love. She may not be the fastest or loudest, but damn does she have a heart. I’ve been inspired by her ever since she started coming to November Project. She’s always told us she’s not a runner, but after that first 5k, then the next one, then the next… this girl doesn’t know what it means to give up. She wrote a letter to us that she was kind enough to let us share. read more

FREEEDOOMMMMMM!!!

NPSD

“‘They may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!’

– William Wallace”

– Jenna Van Cleve

What’s a workout without a little chaos, friendly competition, and redemption?

My roommate, training partner, and dearest endorfriend, Jenna, had a vision… A vision of two tribe factions charging each other, screaming blood-curdling screams at the top of their lungs, and clashing into each other in incredible Rock-Paper-Scissor glory. read more

No no, thank YOU!

NPSD Turkey Trot

This morning, NPSD raced our annual Turkey Trot. It’s basically a 5k in that it’s a 5k that we race. So it’s a 5k.

NPSDBut no, you’re not here to ask about the workout. You don’t care that we had 3 people wearing turkey hats and gobbling at the start line. You don’t care that we had a group that warranted 4 heats. You don’t care that we had 5 people run back to run in the final few who were finishing up the 5k. You don’t care how fucking HUGE our cheer tunnel was. You don’t care that someone gave me a whole pumpkin pie, which I promptly regifted. read more
