Guest Blog by Jenni Stolarski: “What’s It Like?”

According to somebody or something, first impressions can decide the fate of a community as to whether a person will/wants to revisit it. At the same time, community can have a different meaning to anybody, anywhere. Well, at least in a city, like Dallas, which seems to be a melting pot for people from all over the world, that could very well be the case. However, November Project Dallas is doing something right in the first impressions and community departments. Here’s a guest blog by Jenni Stolarski, a Dallas based realtor, who decided to #justshowup to NP Dallas for this past Monday’s Stairs workout:

Black Olympic History

November Project San Diego

As Black History Month is upon us, and the Olympics are on deck, I turned to my old pal, Google* to spit out a bunch of American Olympic trailblazers worthy of some notoriety:

1. Alice Coachmen was the first black WOman selected to the US Olympic Team AND the first black woman to win an Olympic Gold Medal at the 1948 Summer Olympic Games in the high jump competition.  Whaaaaaaa? It was conveniently a leap year that year, so [insert dad joke here]. read more

Our first #traverbal and this strange feeling…

That feeling is pride. And we’ve been having a lot of it lately.

Being a fairly new tribe, a #traverbal is an exciting word to us. So when our homegrown girl Davina and expat Natalie who only got to know of NP because of Miri went to London this week, we were beyond ecstatic and yes, there’s the word… proud. Proud like papa and mama bears sending their NP children to the world. Proud because we already know they would be welcomed like family even before the bounce. Proud our seahorse tag made it out to a tribe in another city. read more

Chasing PR Ghosts on a foggy day

Of the 24 people at the workout this morning we had 7 PR’s which means almost 30% of the group had their best run in funky muddy conditions.

Don’t forget to log your laps here on the NP Tracker to keep track of your runs.

Sledding through March

A small but determined group showed up this morning to help us through our very first sledding workout. The sleds were fierce and fast. Hill runs were snowy and persistent. Well done & be well. See everyone on Friday.

    Decks Out for Harambe (IND)

I feel like I’ve entered Joey-Mac’s mind with all the “pulled our decks out” innuendos I’m tempted to drop in this blog post, but since I’m going to be a fully-sworn in professional in three weeks, I’ll just say that we pulled out our shiny new, clean decks and let all the whole tribe flip them around while getting a nice sweat on for about half an hour.  There.  It’s out of my system. read more

United State of Women – NPCHI Edition

    United State of Women Chicago

“Not much of an introduction is needed here. Emily has been a core member in Chicago since the beginning and has even recruited people from a hot tub (BALLER). She also does Triathlons and did one using Chicago’s bike share which is a  tank of a bike. Needless to say, she’s awesome. So listen up, pump it up and get ready for some NP fun.” NP_CHI Leaders – OUT!! read more

The Triumphant Retun of J-Baby (LAX)

It’s really quite easy to lose sight of the world you used to know when a brand new, freshly constructed and painted world opens up before your very eyes. No, I’m not talking about a new car (though I’m still waiting on that Ferrari that’s going to just fall into my lap one day… I know it is) but I am talking about the glory that is our beloved Hollywood Bowl. We’ve been SO stoked to get back on those stairs, that we just about forgot the world outside of our magical steps of happiness. read more
