Wednesday morning was a good day, because we got to officially welcome one of the biggest champions for NP Montréal as an official co-lead. Laurent is as tall as his sense of humour is inappropriate. His unfathomably smart, enviously athletic, and he’s also a really nice person. How annoying. Just kidding, we’re actually incredibly lucky to have him in this role. Not only does he love the NP movement, he loves the NP Montréal community. If I were a gambling man, I’d bet his passion is going to positively impact all members (existing and eventual). His words below are a testament to that. Laurent, I’m so glad you’re here.

What time is it in the world? [MTL]
You must all know that popular expression used to justify drinking at any time of day, given that somewhere in the world it’s 5:00 p.m. – which is typically the start to “Happy Hour” at most bars and restaurants. Well for me, 5:00 p.m. is actually 6:29 a.m. It’s gotta be 6:29am somewhere in the world right now, no? That is what November Project is for me. “My name is Derek and I’m an NPaholic.” The first step is always admitting it. That anticipation is like the night before Christmas. I wish tomorrow would be Wednesday forever…
Let's veg out – Guest blog [MTL]
I don’t know if it’s that spring is in the air, but I’ve been craving all things veggie, when usually I am craving all things cookie. It was over coffee after NP that our crew began swapping restaurant recommendations for the best veggie-fare in our city. Camilo shared that a plant-based diet fuelled his many activities. Personally, I can’t fathom living life without chicken fingers, but I can appreciate the way Camilo speaks about his experience. So for anyone who is veg-curious, I invite you to consider this one very fit dude’s experience.

Workout jams that’ll make you jelly [MTL]
Welcome to the end of February. For race day, our champs Dora and Jemal set the pace around Place Jacques-Cartier. The glacial temperatures didn’t slow them down as they ran down that 30-minute clock. Congrats to everyone who came out and pushed themselves as the sun rose behind us!

In other news, up here in the deep north, we’re ready for some sunlight and spring temps, but alas, we’re a few weeks away from that just yet. Never fear! Our favourite Frenchman has created a CUSTOMIZED NP Montréal Spotify Playlist to keep the vibes high in March! Thank you, Laurent!
March around Montréal [MTL]
Get ready to March around Montréal next month (March [get it?!]) with November Project Montréal!

Spring is on the verge (we’re optimists over here) and we’re feelin’ spry! We want to meet new people and invite you and your friends to join us for workouts as we explore the city every Wednesday at 6:29 a.m.
From quitter to (q)onfident – Guest blog [MTL]
Jemal is a PhD student studying neuroscience in Montréal, originally from Ethiopia. Despite the 6 months of snow and ice here, he is a skillful runner, an excellent high-fiver and an adventurous NP member. He took his first trip to the United States for this year’s inaugural Snow Globe event! Jemal greets everyone with a sincere smile and easy laughter. He is an essential part of our Wednesday morning NP crew. Jemal, we’re so happy you’re here… even if you’re late 😉

The Speed Project 5.0 [MTL]
Our favourite Frenchman, Laurent Caudrelier, is part of a 10-person team running The Speed Project in March. Laurent is an impressive runner, cyclist, and all-around powerhouse of good vibes. As the clock ticks down, we wanted to know more about his experience taking on this ambitious goal. Laurent answered all 5.5 of my questions below. I think you’ll appreciate the balance of smart strategy and humourous honesty that Laurent brings to this challenge.
Introducing Silvana – Guest blog [MTL]
Silvana has been a consistent member with NP Montreal for over a year. She us well known for her exuberant laughter, warm smile, and early morning enthusiasm. She has a personality like caffeine, perking up all those around her and as a co-lead, I know I can count on her to keep the vibe high each week. In today’s blog, Silvana tells her story of how she came to NP and what it has come to mean to her. She reminds us that we all come to NP for different reasons, but once there, we all belong.

Pourquoi s’entrainer l’hiver ? [MTL]
