Back To School Workout

Workout

It’s that time of year! The time when back packs are filled with new supplies and folks head off to the hallowed halls of education. And what better way to celebrate than with an awesome workout!

This workout has 3 rounds (or periods if you will) that are 8 minutes each. The format changes up each round as we head off to our different classes. There’s also 90 seconds of recess in between each round, but more on that later…

First class of the day is Math Class!

For this round, there are 3 moves.
Push Ups
Bicycles
Squats

The most important thing to remember is that each pass through the circuit, you’ll do 20 Squats. You can do whatever reps for the push ups and bicycles you like as long as it adds up to 20. So, 10 push ups, 10 bicycles, 20 squats. Or 5 push ups, 15 bicycles, 20 squats, etc. Feel free to change it up each pass through.

Now we’ve got 90 Seconds of Recess before moving on to the next class. This of course means 90 seconds of burpees!!!!

Second Period. . .Science Class!

Today in Science Class, we’re doing a little #freefitness chemistry!! We’ll be combining some core moves into 1 super move!!!

How this works, you’ll do 10 reps of each of the following moves…
Crossover Kicks
Glute Bridges
Sit Ups
V Ups

Then you’ll follow that up with 1 rep stringing them all together!

Then it’s time for recess!! This time it’s 90 seconds of your favorite jack….Jumping, Step, Plank, whichever works for you!!

Final Class of the day is English Class

Now this final round is all about spelling. We’ve got 5 moves that all use your body to create a letter. Those are…
S = Dive Bombers
T = Push Ups With A Twist
A = Plank Toe Taps
I = Single Leg RDL
N = Jackknife Sit Up

Let’ see how many words you can spell in 8 minutes. Do 10 reps of a move to use the letter, and yes you can use a letter as many times as you want (for example, you could spell the word AT or ASSISTANT).

Finally we’re finishing up with a Pop Quiz aka our burnout!!! We’re heading back to science to learn about space from the one and only Interplanet Janet from Schoolhouse Rock!!

Hit play and and start doing some Around the Galaxy (aka around the world) lunges!!! Whenever you get to the chorus (where they sing “Interplanet Janet, she’s a galaxy girl” take a well deserved dance break!!

That’s it!! Take your high fives and go out and have the very best day, whether it’s off to school or not.
