The season of light is here

Have you noticed? It’s here.

The season of light.

**happy dance**

Friends who are joining us from afar, this is a big deal to those of us from Edmonton. We take full advantage when the light shows up for NP mornings!

Being at latitude 53 means we are in the season of long, bright mornings and evenings. read more

#togetherbutapart is expanding!

Well I forgot to write a blog post yesterday (eye roll to the far back of my head).

We are thrilled to be underway with our #enduro challenge this month. We’ve got people joining our Edmonton crew from as far away as Minneapolis, Portland, Toronto, Chicago, and a couple of NPCan transplants to Pender Island. Welcome and I hope you’re all starting to find your groove with this challenge. But not too much. Rob and I will be challenging you (and us) all month long! read more

The (March) Madness is over!

Yep, that’s right. We done yo! Whether you were on a team or participated individually in the #bigteamsmallteam challenge, you crushed it!

We set out a kinda crazy kinda not so crazy (by NP standards) goal of completing 333,333 reps of exercises on MWF.

And, obviously, we crushed it. #togetherbutapart. read more

I shared a little, you shared a little

Hey NP!

Anybody else hitting the “I miss everyone I know” lane yet? I’m hitting that haaard this week.

Also ~

I have to say, you all are amazing. Thanks for all the DMs, texts, conversations (some on the ski hill this past weekend), and quick calls. I know I shared something last week that may have brought up different thoughts or emotions for you. I hope you got my intention in sharing what I did cuz that part (intention) matters… a lot. read more

Seeing it through my eyes

I haven’t always felt included at NP.

I certainly did feel included and welcomed by Andrew, Jen, and Nadim. Since day 1 for me.

(I can’t believe that’s gonna me one up there one day… leading the bounce!)

But truly, I’ve felt left out at times. In my 6+ years of being part of the incredible NP community, I was never part of any groups that exist/existed. More specifically, I was never invited into these groups. read more

We done!

Just kidding.

We’re just done the February challenge… and what a challenge it was!

At Sunday’s NP virtual social, we announced the winners of the Feb #abovethebelt challenge. For highest rep count, the team that brought home the gold was Team Februas– Will, Sandra, and Darla. Congrats y’all! The NP spirit was pretty neck and neck but Team Hans, Franz, and Cousin Arnie finished with the win- nice work Emily, Kyle, and Lee-Ann! read more

YEG is still our playground

Hey,

I’m just sitting over hear thinking about all the wonderful mornings we’ve had together… IRL. It’s been a while.

My first day at NP was in June 2014…. a Commonwealth morning. While that entire morning was unique to me (bouncing, grassroots gear, sweaty hugs, high fives from Andrew… before I knew who he was, and more), I also noticed that the crew from Breakfast Television was there to learn more about this morning fitness group that took over the city in the wee hours. read more

The Year of the Ox

Happy New Year!

When Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year happens, we all know what that means. And this morning just didn’t quite feel the same. So, we’ve asked our friends and yours, Tom and Christine Loo, to help us acknowledge and celebrate the new year….

Happy Chinese New Year! Or Lunar New Year, but my family always says Chinese New Year, maybe because we are Chinese. read more

It’s boiling outside

I went to a Jim Gaffigan show when he came to Edmonton in 2007. It was like minus a million degrees that December day… early in my life in Edmonton (aka I didn’t know how to dress for real winter). Jim walked on stage and said “it’s boiling outside.”

He immediately won over that group of #yeg comedy lovers. Myself and hubs included. read more

Winding down or winding up?

So? Is everyone feeling a bit stronger in their legs after January’s leg challenge?

I too am noticing a bit more muscle. And, I might even keep some of those exercises in rotation… weekend 40:1s anyone?

At Sunday’s NP virtual social, we announced the two winners of January’s leg challenge: 1) winner for the highest number of reps and 2) winner for ultimate team spirit. read more
