By the time you are reading this, I will have already bounced my last bounce as a co-leader of November Project Chicago.
November in Chicago (CHI)
For the month of November we’re challenging you to explore your city.
Community Gathering Recap (CHI)
This past Sunday evening members of November Project Chicago came together to hold space and offer up their thoughts, feelings, and reactions to the blog post by Maggie MayKei, NP Brooklyn co-leader, and the November Project headquarters response regarding the pervasive white privilege our the organization as a whole.
No Sleep 2020 Recap (CHI)
Over the weekend, 14 teams joined together in No Sleep 2020-- a 48 hour virtual relay race. We were honestly surprised by how many of y’all joined us on this adventure, and we’re so incredibly grateful that you did. From Madison to Brooklyn, Minneapolis to Grand Rapids, Milwaukee to Chicago, and tons of other NP expats around the country, we came together for a weekend of fitness and fun.
NoSleep 2020 (CHI)
Let’s start with the bad news, No Coast 2020 is cancelled. Womp womp. Hurt the Dirt racers will either defer their entry to 2021, or will commit to running their race distance virtually, but at Luton Park in Grand Rapids. Let’s all heave a collective sigh that we won’t be together in person with all our midwest November Project friends, and we won’t be running any races, and then let’s move on to the good news.
Cautious Reopening (CHI)
Chicago...it is allllllllmost time. In person workouts. They’re coming. Soon.
COVID-19 Hot Take (CHI)
Hot take: I think we’re all going to come out the other side of this coronavirus pandemic faster, fitter, and stronger than we went in. Hear me out…
Already, a week in to working from home for the majority of Chicago, people that don’t usually workout have been messaging me and telling me that they went for a run for the first time in ages, or they joined an online class, or they committed to yoga or meditation practice.
Too Many Announcements (CHI)
Too many things to keep in your brain at 7am after crushing a workout, so we've summarized everything we wanted to say in a neat and tidy blog.
February Recruiting Challenge (CHI)
Chiberia amiright? It’s cold. It’s dark. It’s snowy/slushy/icy. This is that time of year when those new year’s resolutions start to wear off, and gym membership dies down. We start hibernating, planning tropical vacations, and considering becoming snowbirds that winter at NP San Diego. Instead of that negative energy, we want to flip the switch and throw out some positivity this February by challenging you to a recruitment challenge. If you’re not having fun this winter, it’s because you’re not with us. We want to help your friend, your coworker, your roommate, your bus seat-mate, that random girl in the bar bathroom that you had a really intense conversation with…you get the idea…we want to help everyone in Chicago have a little more fun this winter.
Snowglobe 2020 Recap (CHI)
I took off on a solo winter getaway weekend to the exotic city of Syracuse, NY to attend the second annual November Project Snowglobe. Five northeastern NP cities planned a packed weekend full of winter fun. If you didn’t go, we missed you. Seriously. The only thing that would have made the weekend better was even more people taking over the city. If you did go, HOW MUCH FUN DID YOU HAVE? As I wrote this on Sunday night I was somehow both exhausted and energized just thinking back on the 48 hour blizzard of fun.
