I love it when a plan, and fucking amazing people, come together. Today we met in front of the Lakefront Totem Pole (very tribe appropriate) for our first workout away from the Field Musuem. Friends brought friends, who brought coworkers, resulting in our biggest turnout yet. The shirt-tagging went off with no arrests while we kicked it old-school to some Ice-T. OG’s & Newbies got down.
It’s Wednesday PR day in Chicago, and the headliner #NP_Chi has a list of serious demands for the show.
1. Fog Machine that pumps out an unadulterated 100,000 cu.ft/minute. Not one skyscraper is to be visible. For that matter neither are cars, the sun, or the lake.
2. Tons of speed. We’re talking Motley Crue levels of speed. Well maybe not that much, or even that kind, but you dont get #racingfit by having a mellow PR Day.
Is this where I’m supposed to post the recap from this week’s November Project – Seattle? Nope, this is still Chicago? If you say so… The dudes/dudettes of the Chi-Tribe are seriously fucking #weatherproof, and proved it again today in the rain.
After a quick warmup, we hit the sledding hill for some partner relay action, with a twist. If you wanted to avoid burpees at the bottom, all you had do is slide down the hill. Well, apparently nobody is afraid of getting a little dirty. Andrew Watt was the sliding champ, and we only recorded one minor injury in Dan’s ankle. Dont worry buddy, we’re all looking forward to #thereturn next week!
It was a pretty grey and gloomy morning here in Chi-town. Lots of rain in the forecast, and a severe weather warning. To most, staying in bed would have been the preferred method of existing at 6:28am. Fuck that. Without fail ,one-by-one the tribesters started filing in with their neons and smiles.
We kicked-off National Running Day with a leap-frog style relay across some seriously long baseball fields. Hoistees and mountain climbers broke the tempo, and 300 meter sprints showed exactly how #racingfit this tribe is.
