You Did That. (DCA)

Two hundred burpees?

You did that.

50 Lincoln Logs?

You did that.

500 (AND ELEVEN) people at Lincoln?

You did that.

You, yes YOU. I’m saying you, but what I mean is WE. Every person that has ever participated in a workout has contributed to awesome and powerful achievements of the human body and spirit at November Project DC.

Our victories don’t happen in a silo, and our failures don’t either. Every win, every race completed, every #weekendearned, it happens together. November Project is a community in the most genuine sense of the word, because without y’all it simply ceases to exist. Please know that you all build and drive this movement every single Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

It’s fairly easy to find the stories and occurrences where NP goes far beyond free fitness and adult recess and segues into real life. It’s become commonplace for someone to get inspired to train for their first race, or try a new distance that they didn’t think they could finish.  I’m happy that NP can provide these instances for folks, but I would posit that the real magic of November Project lies in the accomplishments that happen outside of the fitness realm. People happily married because of November Project. Kids who will grow up with the influence of strong, positive role models because their parents are so freaking cool and bring them to NP. Stories of changing the way somebody experiences their city because they find NP and finally have a sense of family.

What the fuck am I getting at?

A $2,158 donation to schools impacted by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

You did that.

Two boxes full of school supplies and 12 boxes worth of books from a local library being shipped care of Lululemon (Shout out, Inga).

You did that.

That donation will get more than 35 children  school meals for a full year. That is important. That is critical.

You did that.

November Project is a movement I’m constantly proud to be a part of, and consistently amazed by. When anyone says jump, y’all don’t even ask how high; you simply smash any and all expectations. Physically? The accomplishments achieved are ridiculous. Ninety burpees in 7 minutes is sick, and qualifying for Boston is DOPE, but take just one second to remember that YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE in your community, to your fellow Tribe members, and to the world.

YOU. DO. THAT.
