Race Face, Stace Face (IND)

Howard’s Halfway to Halloween Hoedown Hootenanny was all it was cracked up to be: Super, Wild, Salty, Dirty, Grungy, Pretty, Galactic, Ballerific, American, Boozy, Pollinated, Healthy, and Sweaty. It definitely was not uniCorny. Newbies shined, oldies whined (not really; oldies kicked flucking arse supporting the newbies this morning), and on the feastival he created, Howard dined! Gotta love the added motivational incentive of a pump-up-partner during the Race Day ordeal!

“cash me ousside […gardening]”

Solid showing at both workouts! The pride about newbies bringing newbies (especially to a RACE DAY!) continues to swell! Very impressive stuff! [The exclamation marks are meant to be read as if I’m yelling all this, because I am. Update: I’m now jobless.] Elephant Noggin’ Shaw has all these recruiting contest points categorically organized in his mind, so no worries about the legitimacy of contest point totals to come! [Still yelling! <–inception yelling].

Workout was Race Day workout + accountabilibuddy.

Notes

  • This Saturday (4/29) is our big recruiting/tagging/running/boozing/yelling social. Howard’s working on an incredible, alliterative name for it right now. We’re hitting the War Memorial steps for a workout starting at 10a then moseying over to Elbow Room at 11a for tagging, stamping, drawing, laughing, bringing up past memories of our least favorite waitresses, and maybe even drinking a few tasty Schlitz PULL TABS. Cone one, come all! Bring all those friends who use the “too early” excuse. If 10a is too early still, you’re in college and are expected to be studying during all waking hours anyway, so we won’t plan to see you. If that doesn’t apply to you, I can hear your verbal from here!
    • We’re looking for help with poster and stamp making supplies, so if you’ve got thick markers, poster boards, cardboard, scissors, beer boxes, etc., we’d love to use it/them to write and draw ridiculous shit!
    • For all those planning on cheering on our Mini runners and any and all other Mini runners/walkers/wheelers/riders, I’ll give an incredibly precise location announcement and ‘morning of’ plan of attack after Friday’s workout and at the social.
  • The inaugural No Coast Summit up in Wisconsin was an absolute blast! I’ll leave it at that and let NP Chicago’s FB pics and Stew’s bee costume tell the rest. If that’s not good enough, consult Sarah’s mental lockbox of inside jokes conveniently translated into user friendly, electronically stored hashtags on IG.
    • And for those who missed it on the meeds, we’ve welcomed two new tribes: Dallas, TX and Richmond, VA!
  • Props for days to the paint crew! Special thank you/sorry to the early crew for tossing aside valuable, coveted sleep to arrive to a stencil-less jobsite.
  • Photo cred goes to Anne today! Thanks a ton!
  • We have a special Friday workout planned for Mini weekend, so don’t make plans to avoid that Friday’s NP workout…. Instead, make plans to come! It’ll be well worth it!
  • This Friday’s workout is 6a at the obelisk/fountain a block north of the War Memorial in the Veterans Memorial Plaza (aka lawn, aka mall).
  • Last Wednesday workout for Kurt and Shalyn???!!!???!!!  More to come on that on their last, final workout.
  • Just keep planking!

So long, Slim [somebody needs to take those beans off the fire and rinse the cast iron skillet; thank you].
