Peachtree Road Race & July Events for the Win! (ATL)

June was a crazy month. I mean, we had a stretch of 7 days of straight NP ATL action. So in July, we’re taking a step back and slowing it down.

…just kidding. It’s already the first week and we have events happening non-stop!

We kick off the first week of July with a handful of events around one of the world’s largest 10ks – the Peachtree Road Race. If you’re in town visiting ATL for the 4th, running the race, or cheering at the race, come work out with us!

July 3

Peachtree Road Race Expo | 12 -2 PM | Georgia World Congress Center

We’re teaming up with Back On My Feet Atlanta, who has graciously allowed us to work at their expo booth during their Treadmill Challenge. From 12-2pm, we’ve got a group of NOVEMBER PROJECT runners on the treadmill running to raise money for BOMF. If you don’t know much about them, they are a great, national organization that combats homelessness through the power of running, community support, and essential employment and housing resources. You’ll hear more about them soon, because we’re hosting a workout with them later in July!

If you can’t run but want to donate money to their cause, here’s the link to our page, listed under Tribe Leader Alexa’s name.

Pre-Peachtree Road Race Yoga for Runners | 7 PM | Piedmont Park Visitor Center

We’re lucky to have NP tribe member and certified Baptiste Yogi Niamh leading us through a gentle flow class. She’s designing this waterfront yoga class for runners, aiming at doing restorative poses to loosen you up before race day. Even if you’re not racing, join us for fun before the 4th!

This is also your last chance to get a red/white/blue #grassrootsgear tag for the race or cheer section!

July 4

Special 4th of July Workout | 6:27 AM | Colony Square

We’re migrating from our usual Wednesday morning spot to work out on Peachtree Street, so we’re ready to cheer on runners for the Peachtree Road Race. Whether you’re not racing because you’re injured (like Alexa) or you hate running, this fitness circuit will be a challenge in its own way, no running required!

Peachtree Road Race Cheer Station | 7:30 AM | Colony Square

Right after our workout, we’re sticking around for the rest of the morning to cheer on the thousands of runners and walkers who are doing the Peachtree Road Race. Our location at Colony Square is less than a mile from the finish and a prime cheering spot in Midtown Atlanta. If you’re running, look out for us and our crazy posters and shenanigans. If you finish early, head through the park and cheer with us! We’re also getting some free lemonade from future restaurant Flower Child, and free coffee from Tribe Member Andrea’s company, Café Celaque.

July 21

Back on my Feet Workout | 7:00 AM | Various Shelters -> run to -> Centennial Olympic Park

We’ll be meeting up at a few shelters in downtown to run with the BOmF people to our workout location- Centennial Olympic Park! After the warm-up run, we’re doing a circuit, followed by drinks and snacks to get to know BOMF.  Stay tuned for exact meet-up location if you would like to run from one of the exact shelters! If you would like to meet us at Centennial Park, plan to arrive and meet us at 7:20 am. Location in the park TBA!

July 23

80s Beach Blast Workout with King of Pops | 6:27 PM | Active Oval at Piedmont Park

We’re teaming with King of Pops for an epic summer fitness routine – an 80s Beach Blast style workout! The workout will include 80s-inspired circuits and some sand exercises on the beach volleyball court. After the workout, enjoy free ice-cold King of Pops!

More to come, check back for July events!
