Knocked the Lights Out (IND)

Absolutely stellar Race Day performances today!!! Collectively knocked the lights outta that workout with tons of PRs, great numbers at both workouts, high energy, and strong newbie showings, especially for such a rough workout (nice work, newbies and recruiters)! Some folks worth recognizing by name: Blake (hit his sub-15 min mark; woah!), Andrew (sub-16!), Anne, Morgan, and Beth (all shaved time like it grows on Jaden’s face). Awesome job! For any others that PR’ed or know of a friend that PR’ed, please give them and/or yourself a shout-out in the FB pics (and tag yourselves)!!! Maybe it was the news coverage or maybe it was the cool air, but whatever got people so fired up and PR-poised, lets get it going again next month! read more

Keep Rollin’ (IND)

My version of a news-style blog post today as I have my sights set on a new career choice…newsing the shit out of shit.

The Workout:

Felt like fall on the South Stairs of the War Memorial today as we broke out the wax for the old “Mustache Flight Pattern”.  Up to the gold door and choose either East or West door where the luck of the roll determined your exercise fate.  Then back to the south stairs, don’t forget the tricep dip, back up to the door and go the other way.  Repeat until svelte. read more

Eclipse Sunglasses (IND)

PSA: Don’t stare at the sun, but don’t get duped by phony bologna (odd[er] phrase written than spoken) eclipse glasses peddlers; they’ll getcha, much like this workout did most everyone. Woah! What an ass-kicker. And that humidity, it’ll getcha [it’ll’ve gotcha?] too. read more

Quick Announcements and an Important Topic (IND)

Announcements:

Friday’s workout will be on the NORTH end of the Canal Walk in front of Bugg’s Temple/IU Health.

As we continue to make our city our gym and explore every/learn every bit we can, every 3rd Friday of the month, we will be working out at different Indy park.  We hope to keep these within running/biking distance of The Circle as to incorporate that in to your workout and make them accessible. read more

A Beautiful Bunch, A’ripe Banana (IND)

Daylight come when you do-a the crunch…-a . . .  “I do the cha-cha like a sissy girl. I lik-a do da cha-cha.” I’m sorry we seem to be having some technical difficulties. In other news . . . [breaks wind].

Here we go; back on track: Workout was great. A few dips, a few trips around the sun, a few hops, and a few push-up drops. E’ry day we were shuffling, and er day we were on a boat crunching. If none of that makes any sense, it either means you weren’t at the workout or I wrote it, or both. read more

There goes ANOTHER ONE!! (IND)

An unseasonably cool morning in July was more than welcome for this morning’s #raceday.  It was end of the month shenanigans as normal as people cursed their way through the grueling race day workout many of us know all too well.

Since race day is nothing new, and these blogs can get repetitive, I will focus on the other big news of the morning as we said goodbye to Tory and Patrick.  Who, individually are two of the most energetic, smiley, loving and all around positive people that I have ever met.  And, as a couple, they are a FORCE!!  They also each received the Positivity Award, but since we were pressed for time, we had to award the PA twice in one day.  Much deserved for both of them. read more

Hot. Summer. Butts. (IND)

Boy oh boy, it’s shaping up to be a SCORCHER. Good thing you were wise enough to beat the heat (ish) and pull that sultry body of yours out of bed before the sun! …Butt the moon was still out. Ha-Haa-Haaa-Haaaalarious joke.

Shout-out to the nubes (newbs?) [rhymes with tubes] that absolutely flooded the Memorial this morning! We loved having you guys and hope to see you back next week (Friday too)! Great job on the recruiting front, ladies and gents!! read more

Hot Cross Runs (IND)

Editors note: The working title for this blog was “Crossterfuck” but I assumed it might get flagged by wordpress so I figured I would just make it the 10th word in the blog to be safe.

After Casey regaled us with his “Inception” style bounce, it was off we went as we Kris Krossed (sic) all over the War Memorial and surrounding sidewalks.  Too long to try to explain on the blog, but basic gist:  Two lines going up and over in opposite directions, lunge across the south end of the war memorial while high-fiving those going the opposite direction, then back to the north side where runners would take the sidewalks to the east or west doors.  Then switch sides.  Exercises were push-ups and crunches with a burpee to start and finish each one.  If this doesn’t make sense to you, good…you should have been there. read more

Sleep? Awnaw, Hell Naw (IND)

To those who combed the thick book of excuses this morning and found nothing appealing, be proud of yourselves. It ain’t easy [being cheesy] convincing your body that little sleep after a partyful weekend is a good idea, but you guys did it and got a hell of a workout as the reward. That’s the thing about NP; even when you feel, look, and smell like shit, you know there will be someone armed with a hug and a smiling face and a thorough ass-kicking to start your mental and physical day off right. We’re happy to do so and love how pumped it gets you guys, especially you, Andrew. Wow!, that guy stole the show today, skipping eight downhill stairs at a time and handing out motivating double high-fives like we were paying him for it. read more

A Good Day (IND)

Last race day I recreated the song “Regulators”.  This month…I won’t be doing that.  Instead it will be a series of notes.

Wisconsin Notes:

Today was Race Day.

It was also “Tag Your Shirt” Day

For some of us, it was also “Tag Your Entire Body in an effort to figure out where you are getting your tattoo” Day.  Later turning in to…”researching what Krylon paint can do to your skin when left on for an extended period of time” Day. read more
