If you have been to any of the NP Indy workouts or social events over the past couple of months, chances are you have met Timmy. While he is fairly new to the NP family, he dove in head first!! Fully buying in to the themes, the vibe, bringing newbies, spreading the hype, and even doing doubles!! In just a short time, Timmy has become an amazing presence at NP.
Get Lifted (IND)
This has been a very inspiring week for the ENTIRE November Project community. In New York City on Sunday, we saw Shalane Flanagan become the first American woman in 40 years to win the New York City marathon. Believe it or not, Shalane is no stranger to November Project, in fact, below is a picture of her receiving the Positivity Award at November Project Boston in 2014.
Like Any Birth (IND)
This morning, on NP’s sixth birthday and following WS game 6, we recreated November Project’s birth. Like any birth, it was wet, nasty, and sloppy, heart-warming, beautiful, and unifying. Aside from our hearts, there was nothing warm about it; Shaw’s lips were so frozen that he couldn’t even complete a sentence. Unlike most births, this reenactment featured pumpkins, costumes, and dignitaries (looking at you, Judge Rob, played here by Stew W., and Barrack Obama(?))
Racing Through October (IND)
Just the facts today; no time for dilly-dallying. Important announcements below.
Workout:
Race Day. ‘Nuff said… On second thought, I want any newbie readers to be able to brag to co-workers about what they put themselves through this morning, so here’s what you did today: Up-n-over (uno), 50 sit-ups, uno, 50 push-ups, uno, 50 mtn climbers ea leg, uno, 25 burpees, uno. By the way, AWESOME job showing up and toeing up this morning by our first timers and by all those who nailed down a new PR (looking at you, Kitty and JoeyMac, each shaving off over a minute!!!). Shout-out to our selfless, always helpful “pilot” runners guiding others through the Race Day gauntlet!
#stairsforbreakfast (IND)
Just like the old days with a giant bowl of Sugar Smacks, we dug in with a “Cereal Killer” workout this morning. Captain Crunches and Kix on the north side with Apple (Plank) Jacks and Oatmeal Square (Push-ups) on the south were all part of a balanced breakfast. We even threw in some Corn Pops (Side Frog Jumps) to connect them all with the up and overs. And to wash the whole thing down we went sky diving burnout courtesy of DG, Roger, and Christine from NP Milwaukee.
Giddy Dad Jokes – Guest Blog w/Andy R. (IND)
Whenever I flip through pictures of ways to hype the workout I always land on a picture of Andy. He’s always got a smile, he always indulges Casey and my crazy theme ideas with a killer costume, and he has recruited more Lilly employees than Merck (Ed Note: Not sure if that is even funny, my pharma humor is lacking, but I am trying to channel my inner “dad jokes”). Giving Andy the Positivity Award was a “no-brainer” as he has become such a huge part of the November Project Indy movement. We love when those in the tribe want to share their stories, and Andy has offered to share his. Have the feel rags handy because this might hit you in them – Shaw
The Sounds of Fall are…falling (IND)
Race Day was rife with PRs!! As the unseasonably high temps fall, so do our race day times!!

(Hamilton already crushed his sit-ups, but is waiting for Mike to finish. What a great friend!!)
Lots of Announcements and coming ups, so let’s just get in to it!!
Friday – Workout will be on the North Meridian St. spoke of Monument Circle. The theme will be “Let’s Hear it For the Boys” as we will be sweating with our lululemon friends as they roll out their campaign to showcase the dudes. (Editors Note: Finally we are getting a little love here, amiright guys?!?!). That was a joke, but if you wish to complain please forward all complaints to Casey Seaton. Seriously though, there should be some good lulu swag as well as just a general great way to earn the weekend!! There is even an event page – #signup: not required #justshowup: mos def required.
Mirth, Friend[s], & Fire[d Up People]
That title’s a bit of a stretch, but so was the link between backwards lunges and BBQ; for those that missed that fantastic witticism, here it is again: “Those in the workout world call these babies[, referring to backwards lunges here,] bbq backsides because they’re best done looooowwww and slooooowwww.” …It beats calling them pork butts I guess.
Believe in YourSelfie (IND)
Every several months we like to break out the “Call Me Maybe” workout…not only for the fact it is a fun way to mix it up and one of the tougher workouts we do. But, mainly because those who haven’t done it always give me the same “concerned/not really sure if they should” look when I tell them to write their number down and drop it in the bucket. That whole “what exactly is my personal contact information going to get used for” mentality really kicks in….and I love it. What I also love is forcing friendships upon people, which accomplishes as well. If you were there today, you have a new friend’s number…use it wisely. Send them dozens of text messages without their reply asking how they are doing, where they are, and why they aren’t texting you back. Or – just send the selfie with a movie quote and call it a day. Your choice.
Indianapolis (IND)
…A place to live, laugh, love, and smile. Bringing all that Hoosier hospitality this morning was a stellar couple of workout warrior groups full of early morning energy! NP_IND: better (and cheaper) than coffee.

Workout:
Four stations: shooting stars and reach-for-the-sky push-ups on the north platform, lunge between, and high knees up on the east upper followed by a trip down the stairs and back up to leap frogs (and wall sits while you wait) on the west upper. Do that schtuff on repeat.
